Usually, it doesn't get anywhere near bad as they project for anything. But looking outside 6"+ of snow is highly possible even in lower Plaqemines parish

Not the easiest thing to project.

I was in the same camp. Thought NO way we would hit the low of 4". This is fricking wild

I measured 6.5" in multiple spots of the yard in Madisonville.

12.5 inches is the record for BR set in 1895. There was 6 inches in 1914. I'm guessing this will be the second highest total in recorded Baton Rouge history.

We got 6 inches in 2017 in Madisonville. It hasn't been that long ago.

I will be honest, when I first saw that they were expecting 3 to 6" my first thought was "I will be really surprised if we get close to 6"".. Well here I am surprised as shite because I can't even see my street. The snow is almost even with my driveway and the only reason I can see parts of the road is because there have been parish trucks that passed through a few times.
I have two Crepe Myrtle trees in my back yard and the snow is almost up to where the tree starts to split. My dogs were running around in it earlier, but the last time they went out it was a little too much for them. My male dog went in it just enough to cock his leg up, look back at me and piss and if he wanted me to know he didn't like all this shite on the ground, but he did have to hop through it.

I scoffed at 6" in Houston but the park across the street got a good 4". I personally underestimated.
Good stuff, the dog could barely be restrained.

I’ve got 8” on the yard and it’s supposed to pick up again. Wild.

About the same as 2017.

Snow is a lot harder to predict than rain, baw.

Probably a woman, they are well known for underestimating the number of inches
