This whole off season I would pit the Offense vs Defense.

Separate the two groups til spring.
Give out weekly rewards for best performing group but only post the results on the white board but keep them separated til spring.
Create some real animosity between the two.

I'll let coach know this brilliant idea..

Why do you think this is a good idea?
Having animosity amongst the team is a great way for thing to turn south quickly when we lose a game or two. It makes way more sense for the team to bond and have each other's backs.

That all depends on the leaders you have in the locker room because if you're wanting animosity, it would have to stay between the sidelines.
A little animosity with good leadership- can be a good thing. Alot of animosity with not enough leadership and you just threw a grenade on you whole program, and possibly your career.

If it helps the OL run block better and/ or the defense tackle better, I’m all for it.

Nothing says team work like forced division

Apologies wrong board. I want real competition and I want real desire to dominate. I think we’ve become a soft team.

I’ve got an idea.. we should take them away to camp, somewhere like say Gettysburg College. Then we should wake them up early one morning during camp to go on a hike to Gettysburg cemetery where coach Kelly can give a motivational speech. Then we keep camp in Gettysburg until the offense and the defense become best friends.. Then, after next year, everyone will remember the Tigers.

I can't fathom how someone could possibly post this on the recruiting board by mistake.

I did. Sorry. But I do think we should have real competition between the two sides in the spring.

You’ve never played football in your life and it shows. What do you think they do during spring practice? Walk throughs?

Ah. I see. Anyone who thinks this is just a game is a p***y. Maybe a little drug therapy as well. Nothing creates illogical animosity like amphetamines.
Make them growl and howl. Arrrrrggghhhh!

I think you can build team camaraderie post spring.
I think with so many new players coming in it would help to build leaders organically if they just worked out and competed only with there side of the ball.
I think the SWAT groups were a good way to start but I think it may be what’s making our team to buddy buddy and not dogs.
Imagine if the unit focused solely on whipping the other units arse the whole spring. That should lead to iron sharpening iron?

One of the dumber ideas and series of posts in the history of the rant. Congrats!
