This baseball team is stacked

Should be a really good year for LSU baseball
Theres going to be some really good bats that don’t see ABs
And some really good arms that won’t see any innings
A starting lineup is very hard to project

I think this every year but I really think we are stacked this year. Unlike years past, if one, two, or even three guys don't live up to expectations, we have a lot of depth to find a replacement. Basically, our ceiling is extremely high and our floor is also extremely high.

Patience guys let’s not oversell things they’re gonna need a minute before we go putting them on the intimidator

Plenty of talent, but they may not peak until late in the year which is fine. I worry about the lack of returning offensive production. Jones and Milam should be strong. But we will need some of the new guys and transfers (Hernandez, Dickinson, Curriel, Priester, etc) to adjust quickly to the SEC level of pitching.

I mean just look at the bats you have
1 Jared Jones
2 Steven Milam
3 Daniel Dickinson
4. Ashton Larson
5. Luis Hernandez
6. Jake Brown
7. Michael Braswell
8. Josh Pearson
9. Eddie Yamin
10. Ethan Frey
11. Chris Stanfield
12 . Derek Curiel
12. Cade Arrimbide
13. Dalton Beck
14. Tanner Reaves
15. Blaise Priester
Plus a lot of young guys with talent
But these are all already believed to be SEC starting caliber players

I believe this years team and national title hopes will fall solely on the pitching staff and staying healthy. LSU will run out one of the most talented lineups offensively in the country.

First loss-the rant will quickly jump off the bandwagon

It's cold as hell so it's time for first pitch!

My opening day lineup pre-spring practice

Every time LSU Baseball releases analytics, Priester is at or near the top.
We really not gonna get him in the lineup?

Sounds like Johnson does not trust his glove. he talked like Hernandez and Arrambide were 1a/1b recently and Priester would be more of a relief guy/DH

Most of my stress with this team is guys who are NOT playing.....i think ill get over it

The opening day lineup will be just that, not the starters for every game throughout the season.
3 catchers will play this year, Jay has said as much.
We'll platoon probably 4-5 guys at DH before settling in on 2-3 of them.
The OF battle will go on through the OOC into conference play I bet, same with catcher and the pitching order. We are just beyond stacked with talent in the OF and pitching right now. Catcher position will be about who is best behind the dish, period there.

It usually works itself out. Players wont be as good as we think, and some will be much better than we think.

I fully expect an irrational response from the peanut gallery, and calls for Jays firing on that first loss. It will never fail, and I will laugh at their stupidity.

Without a doubt, that first OOC loss will have some looney tunes posts on here. Hopefully it doesnt come before we travel to Texas to play DBU at the Rangers park then the 3 games at Frisco that weekend.

Yeah that's going to be a stretch. DBU will be a good series I hope.

DBU is just a 1 game mid-week thing, then we play KSU, Nebraska and Sam Houston in Frisco that weekend.
DBU probably the best team we'll see in non-conference play. KSU/Nebraska maybe following them up. Nicholls potentially a sneaky close 4th, they were solid last year, although we took Mayers off their roster, they still had lots of guys who could hit and a solid amount of pitching. Sam Houston was decent.
Omaha, Purdue-Fort Wayne, North Dakota St, North Alabama, Southern are all bad teams OOC before conference play starts.
Xavier was really good last year, not sure at all about them this year. Picked 2nd in the Big East which is a pretty competitive league.

Oh shite. Yeah I haven't really looked at the schedule yet. I need to go look at it. I'm so stoked, we are going to have a monster team this year. What a refreshing change. We've been so blessed with LSU baseball.
