Where do you recommend getting a quality men’s suit. I’ve been retired for 4 years and need a good one for a wedding that doesn’t require a tux. I will also use it for any events that require one.

Buy at Dilliards. Take to a professional tailor.
You’ll be good.

Get a dinner jacket and make all the ladies wet. Not white mind you. Ivory.

How much do you want to spend? Also do you need a sack cut suit (hefty) or can you wear and want a slimmer cut?

Just bought one from State and Liberty, and I am very satisfied.
They are a slimmer cut, with flexible material. Looks and feels great.

The way I do it is to contact one of these "Hong Kong Tailors" that travels. Google them and check their various schedules until one is coming to a city near you.
He'll have hundreds of fabric swatches for you to look at. He'll take detailed measurements and fit you for a suit, a handful of shirts with your initials on the cuffs etc.
6 weeks later the package arrives at your doorstep. About half the cost of a tailored suit in a men's store. About the same price for shirts ($70) but you get them custom made as opposed to off the rack.

I like how people downvoted me as if I was serious. That shite is ugly.

It wouldn't allow me to right click so maybe this link takes you right to it, but this suit isn't bad.
