I agree that this whole thing has been a travesty of justice, lets not forget that the 4 years of no trial is due to Lang changing attorneys and pushing back deadlines.
I can't really blame him since Trump won gets him out without a conviction and his delay would have been used his time incarcerated towards time served if Biden would have won and a trail was finally held.
The messaging in this case needs to be applied some context here.

We (taxpayers) are going to pay out of pocket for this. He deserves every dime, along with all the others imprisoned for years without a trial, but wish I had to be paid by the politicians who committed that crime.
