Former Rep. Sean Duffy, R-Wis., was flanked by both sitting Wisconsin senators in a bipartisan show of support to kick off his Wednesday confirmation hearing before the Senate Commerce, Science & Transportation Committee.

Duffy, who served five terms after flipping a seat held by Democrat David Obey for decades, later moved on to work at Fox News; most recently co-hosting "The Bottom Line" with Dagen McDowell on FOX Business.

"I’m humbled by the fact that President Trump has nominated me to this very important position," Duffy said in his opening statement.

He also introduced the eight of his nine children present – as well as his wife, "Fox & Friends Weekend" co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy.

He noted that his eldest son could not be in Washington on Wednesday, as he and his wife recently had a child and also live in Southern California, which is being ravaged by wildfires.

Sean and Rachel were both cast members on MTVs real world. They were then cast in the road rules: all stars where they met.

I would never have known that .

I stopped watching MTV when they stopped playing music. That's been a very, very long time ago. Last time I actually watched anything at all on MTV, Pauly Shore was still a thing, and Daisy Fuentes and Kennedy were VJs. Early 90s Headbangers Ball was prime.

But does he like it up the backside? That’s the real test to be Sec of Transportation.

Lovely people. So lovely I am surprised the Dems aren’t slurring him. Maybe it’s a trick.

I don't have e the energy to pull up all the closures of big trucking - brokers getting hammered - rules and regulations killing the industry

Duffy was in Congress and DOT Secretary isn’t in the same realm as AG, SOD, etc.

Also, the Senate committee that did this hearing isn’t as nuts as Judiciary or Armed Services.
