Greenland

GDP = ~68K per capita

Alaska

GDP = ~70K per capita

With Alaska we can see Commie Russia from Palin's house

Can't say the same about Greenland.

You probably get more attention on Reddit or BlueSky with a post like this.

What if what we would spend on Greenland we spend on big arse bases on Pacific side to scare Commie Russia and Commie China at the same time?

Never been on either, "local media" seems more like "anti social media" to me.

Is it?

I can eat Southern catfish morning / noon / night.

You could give me China catfish by the boatload and I would not eat it.

Easy to say this when you have plenty of food. Go for a few days or weeks without eating and that China catfish will taste pretty darn good.

Its is tactically a great space to own as ICBM's would fly straight over most of it from Russia. Greenland also has a vast amount of untapped resource. Primarily rare earth minerals. So yea it prolly a net positive.

What about instead of having soldiers killed in war zones such as Afghanistan and sending tax payer money to support endless wars in Ukraine, we make a peaceful deal an acquire strategic land without all the bloodshed?

Air Force base and another arctic seaport not so close to Russia. Acquiring Greenland is more about force projection than natural resources

I am an old guy and trusting Red Commies in China and Russia not to be sneaky lying bastards is like a woman expecting a bad man to change for love. Works great in the movies but not so good in real life.

I just watched a Stephen A Smith short where he mentioned Russia and China were both trying to get Greenland. If true, I had not realized that. That alone makes me want it.
