So I missed the fall window of getting a preemergent down in my yard. Of course, now it is filled with weeds. The one I'm most concerned with now is the abundance of stickers that I see. Is there anything that I can put down now to kill it before it blooms?

Following as I just bought a house in BTR and the backyard is not in good shape. Not only do I have drainage issues (thanks primarily to the fact the golf course drains into my yard), but there are tons of various weeds mixed in with the bermuda (assuming Tif 419 as that is what's on the course). Can we do anything now? Or do we have to wait and treat everything with post emergent after it warms up?

Atrazine alone works wonders on burweed. The winter weed cocktail will do the job and kill other broadleafs currently growing.

Is it time to treat the lawn with a winter weed cocktail? Or are the temps coming up in south LA too cold?

Atrazine plus weed free zone is the cocktail I am going to use. I put down simazine in the fall and the yard has only a few green weeds now - kyllinga.

Personally, I'd wait. I'm waiting until the snow thaws next week.

I'm going to hold off until the damn arctic blast passes through. May look at doing it the first week of February.

Is this winter weed cocktail safe for Bermuda? I assume so especially since the bermuda is still dormant. Would I be better off with roundup right now instead? I'm just trying to figure out my best option for a bermuda lawn.

I did a pre-emergent treatment 2 days ago, but that warm blast we had in North Louisiana has some of the weeds growing.

Nooo. I would not apply the cocktail to Bermuda bc of the atrazine.

You could mix the surfactant and 2-4D and knock out all the broadleafs though.

Yes, you can apply to dormant bermuda. Once your bermuda starts greening up you'd want to pull the atrazine.

Thanks! I'll use my backpack sprayer and get some exercise in.
