The trade between the United States and Canada is the largest in the world. Trump is an idiot.

They're our #3 trading partner behind Mexico and China.

I thought that the Keystone XL Pipeline. which pulls oil out of Canada, is really crucial for our economy (according to a lot of posts I've seen on here). Wouldn't that Canadian Oil be something they have that we "need"?

The shallow minds in this thread that cannot distinguish between need and want, nor comprehend negotiating tactics…..

Trump is exaggerating again. Get ready for melts from the simple-minded folks who still haven't figured out how Trump talks.

They "need" a helluva lot more product from the USA than we "need" from Canada.

I suspect you are only looking at the US imports side of the equation. Canada imports almost as much US goods as it ships to the US. The total trade value makes Canada the US's largest trading partner. Has been that way for a long time.

Do we really need their lumber? Have you ever driven through the American southeast? It’s one solid pine tree. Admittedly I’m ignorant to the hardwood industry.

Maybe they should stop depending on the USA.

Sounds like a good time to find other trade partners to me.

To say the most outlandish things is his strategy to start any negotiations. Always has been and always will be.
