Wife and I are leaning towards purchasing a few victorinox kitchen knifes for everyday cooking. Are there any stores in or near the baton rouge area that sell them and have them in stock? Have googled extensively but no luck.

Are you that desperate for knives?

Or can you wait a day for Amazon?

I am ok with waiting. Would like to see how they feel in my hands (and my wife’s) before purchasing them

I can't remember seeing them in stores but I live in GA.

I would just buy one knife on Amazon of a kind that you know would want. Maybe a boning knife or chef's knife.

The fibrox handle grip is nice in my opinion and you might get comfortable enough by handling one that you would be comfortable buying a few more.

If you don't like it, you can always return it.

Great advice, thank you. We definitely want the 8” chef knife, I will start with that one.

That's the one I use the most. And it's wide enough to use as a scoop for what you've chopped.

Highly recommend their bread knife and boning knife as well.

I will do this, thank you.

Yesterday I ordered the 8" Chef knife, Paring knife with 4" blade, the carving knife with a 6" blade, and the bread/slicing knife. All with the black fibrox handles.

Which of the boning knives would you recommend, meaning straight or curved, narrow, flexible, etc? There are several options within the classic (fibrox handle) family.

Same here. Great knife.

I looked up my order on Amazon and was surprised to see I ordered it in 2011.

The long slicing knife is fun to use, especially if you cook brisket from time to time. Not a necessity but great to have when you need it.

Thought I would leave this here for anyone searching victorinox products in the future. We ordered the knives via amazon and added the boning knife as recommended by others in this thread. Just for grins, we also ordered the Victorinox kitchen shears.
These knives fit our hands well and were extremely sharp directly out of the box. We are very happy with them thus far in the short time we have owned them.
Thanks to those of you that took the time to reply!!!
