It’s January and all the OEM’s are dropping their 2025 lineups. PING just released the 440’s, TaylorMade the Qi35’s.

How and why do you decide when to upgrade? Need better performance or just want a shiny new toy? My set is from 2019 (MIzuno ST190 / MP20 set). My opinion is that there are definite gains in the newer models over the 4-5 years, so I am considering new. I still hit the irons well, but would love to upgrade the fairway metals and driver.
As you upgrade every month, Bopper, you are not included in this post. (jk)

Hell Yeah!!!!

I just got the Titleist GT-3 Tensei 1K black 65X

It is so damn straight. I was hitting my TSi3 very well, but the promise of same or more distance with more forgiveness was enticing. Im very happy I got it. My mishits are going damn near straight.

Let the QI35s come out and score a Qi10 fairway. They are incredible. that was my upgrade last year.

Sub70 are dropping a bunch of new irons this year. I may pick some up at somepoint. No need right now.

I really want to try a Titleist GT driver, but my Callaway Ai Smoke TD is so damn good.

I will say that the TaylorMade Qi35 driver is the best looking one from them in years, at least to my eye. I think I like the look of the Ai Smoke vs the new Elyte line.

- Signed,
every driver manufacturer every year

I keep saying I want new woods and hybrid, as they are the oldest clubs in my bag. But the Epic is the most forgiving driver I've ever hit and my 3H is one of the best clubs I've ever owned in the past 20 years. Hit it long enough that even if the new model was 5 yards further I know it won't be as forgiving so I'm sticking with what I got.

Added a new LAB putter last week.

Would like to try some Vokeys at some point. Been playing since I was 13 and somehow have avoided ever owning a Vokey wedge.

Nope, got fitted for new clubs last year and I’ll be good for at least ten years.

How you liking the LAB?
The longer I’ve had my DF3 the more I love it

I got fitted for a new set of irons last month, Callaway Apex AI300.
About to hit the purchase button on a set of the new Cleveland RTZ Wedges that just went live. Cleveland is offering free custom stampings and color fill for the next two weeks. They will ship next week. Went with the black finish in 50 Mid , 56 Adapt, 60 Adapt.
Once all the new drivers are available, I’ll get fitted for a new drive. I’m going to dominate the D Flight this year at my golf club.
Can’t wait

Hell Yeah!!!!

I was fitted in 2019 for Mizuno MP20s when the first came out. Was SOOOO excited to kick pars arse …. nope.
You can buy all the new equipment (and new tech CAN help) but it’s still operator error! I keep thinking I played just as well with my 15 year-old MP60s. My PING G5 was a great driver. The ST190 is good and the fitting helped with dispersion, but I think I was longer with the G5.
Lusting after the PING 430 MAX 10K and the Mizuno 230 MAX drivers.
The GT-3 is getting rave reviews. The Qi35 just hit this week and it is really getting good buzz.
Hoping my buddy can get me into the PGA show this year.
Exciting times!

Probably a new 3 wood, possibly a new 53/54 wedge.

Will probably look at a 5w….again. Hard to give up my 1-iron

Shockingly to me, AI Smoke was #2 on my list. It's a very forgiving and hot driver.

If I can actually recover from my L shoulder surgery and take lessons, I will build a set of Maltbys this year.

I’m sure at some point I will find a reason to buy something else.

I might get a new driver, but I was thinking about a Sub70. I might make the shaft 44 inches.

The new Cally Elyte Ti fairway wood in a 16.5 loft is very interesting to me.

And the new PXG Mini Driver may get a look at as well.

The Average Golfer on YouTube already has a test video out on it and seems to be pretty high on it.

Interested in the GT3 or Qi35 but will be hard to beat the Ai Smoke. Not interested in the Elyte, huge downgrade on the look and name.

I've got the Tensei AV Blue shaft on the Smoke and have a Ventus blue on my Qi10 3W that I think I like better which is what I'd probably throw on a GT3 or Qi35 just to try out and then sell the one I don't like.

I'm very interested in the new Mizuno 925s or 245s. Looking for something more compact than my 21' ZX5s.

Going to grab a Vokey 48' and a Betti Innovai 6.0 with the plumber neck. My spider X3 has been acting up lately and need a new look.

Just looked. Damn.

Not sure I can game those as an 8 though. Much as I would like.

Although interesting thought since I plan to keep the ZX5s.
