I remember everybody made fun of mayfield.. He is head and shoulders over Carr.

I dunno. He has a much better overall team around him. I don’t think anyone will be confusing Mayfield with anything more than an average qb

Supporting cast and coaching matters.
Mayfield and Darnold looked like absolute dog shite when both on Carolina.
Rich Gannon was a journeyman qb most of his career, then became an MVP Super Bowl qb.

I think most people recognized that Baker bounced around some very defective organizations, he obviously had the arm to play in the league and he never struck me as lazy/disinterested. Tampa Bay was dead on the side of the road, they just needed to trade in the old car for a new one.

If Carr wasn't injured last year at Green Bay or Grupe makes the medium range FG last year Carr is in the playoffs and Mayfield is sitting at home.

This always gets repeated but he’s going to get a contract larger than carr.

He already signed an extension for three years that pays the exact same as what Carr is getting for three years.
Actually might be more if he hits his incentives.

Of course. Now Baker is all pro. That’s how it works.
Look at Brees. He teamed up with Payton and they destroyed the league.
A coach’s job is to take a players best ability and draw up plays. Don’t take away from Bakers breakout season bc he is in the right offense.
ETA. Look at Bryce Young. The light has switched on. Sometimes it just takes a certain situation.

Mayfield is Carr with a team. I knew it was going to be bad when Tampa picked him up. He's always been a really dang good QB.

We got flammed for meekly suggesting to get Mayfield over Carr.
