If you could trade your citizenship to live in a country of your ancestry, would you?

All things fairly equal, similar lifestyle, etc.

Would you give up your citizenship to say, move to Nothern Ireland, Scotland? In years past, I easily would've included Germany too, but not now. England is getting there as well, but I know both places have nice towns/villages outside of the craziness/extremism in the cities (immigration problems, Islamists, etc.)

I think Scotland would be hard to pass up.

I have zero desire to live in the UK, whether it’s England or Scotland.

I don't really want to live in UK (minimal history there anyway), France, or Italy.

Maybe Portugal when I retire.

It is my opinion that the other constituent countries get a bad rap because of England and all of their immigrants/problems.

Hell no. Eastern Europe seems like a cold and hard place to live, and always being invaded by others. France and Germany seem to be in chaos and have lots of undesirables there. Of the places my ancestry is traced back to, Poland seems to be the most stable of all of them, but that region just has a history of too many wars and bloodshed. I’d be too worried it’d happen again at some point.

That big ocean really does separate us from a lot that goes on in the rest of the world.

You're kidding, right?

Some of those aren't terrible, like the knuckleheads moving to Belize, but it baffles me why anyone would voluntarily relocate to another country.

To each his own...

If we could send back our undesirables, the US would be unbeatable.

Could probably handle Norway though Tortuga could be tough during hurricane season.
