Yes I would have taken it…but i would like to have a coach in waiting or he is mentoring because his time has passed. Similar to stoops transition to Riley or Bowden to jimbo

I have faith in Kelly, but TBH with the portal, NIL and 12 team playoff, teams can get turned around quick if they have the resources and right leadership.

Last year I was pleased as punch with the trajectory. People like to forget how ugly things were at the end of 2021.
This year we end up in the same bowl. I know we won and we’re a much better team overall but he’s got one year from me to make the playoff and win some games.

Last year with Jayden was the year to make a run, but we had ZERO defense to go with that offense and playoffs weren't expanded yet.
We weren't supposed to win anything this year with a first year QB. Next year, no excuses. 4th year, experienced QB, experienced RB, experienced WRs, lots of young talent that got playing time on defense, getting rid of some of the "bad" defensive players...hopefully we have somebody worth replacing them.
