Someone on here has got to have a contact in the Saints organization who can get us some actual answers for this. It makes ZERO sense.

Happy for ND and UGA but it's unacceptable for Saints fans. They also get a logo in the endzone. We get nothing - just "SAINTS" thinly scrawled in plain black paint.

Painted enzones and logos are for playoff teams. Gotta earn it.

The last time that happened was the Ravens-49ers Super Bowl right?

Correct. Even the LSU / Clemson title game had plain endzones. Every other college title game has had black endzones

Bowl games and Super Bowl participants earned their paint. The Saints, have not.

Your obsession with painted endzones makes zero sense.

Unless they're just happy with how the field looks? Then it makes perfect sense

This thread is about solid coloured end zones.

Superdome is the only CFB championship venue in history without solid endzones. Happened every time LSU played for one in the Dome (4 times).

If nobody cared then every single Super Bowl ever played wouldn't have had solid painted endzones

I think someone on here mentioned one time that the reason they don’t paint the end zones solid is because of the extra paint that will get all over the infill. This would be harder to clean and/or broom into the surrounding turf. If they did black end zones with gold paint, damage would be minimal since the infill is mainly black anyways.

Just my 2 cents

The field down now is also going away after this game. NFL brings in a new turf field for the Super Bowl and then donates and installs it at a local playground. The 2012 field is at Harrell park on Claiborne.

You may be right about the colored endzones for the Saints

But I am very glad the 2019 title game didn’t have a LSU endzone with black background

Last game on this turf. They won’t have to erase it.

I like the painted end zones as well. The grass colored end zones are boring and bland.
