Leave the auto bids.
Remove the auto bye for the top 4 conference champs.
Too 5 conference champs get a bid but reseed based on the rankings.
I was a fan of this initially but seeing it play out this year has changed my mind.

Boise State is playing well, unlike SMU, Tennessee, Clemson and Indiana.

If they are going to keep auto-bids they should’ve moved it down to 4 back when the pac-12 dissolved and and big 12 lost Texas and Oklahoma.
Made no sense to keep it at 5.
The G-5 doesn’t have an auto-bid. Boise would’ve got in this season over Clemson.

big wins happen, they will always happen. if the team with more talent executes their game plan they should win. the 4th ranked team beating the 9th ranked team doesnt mean we need to change the format AGAIN

Which is why it should be contracted to 6 teams but we know that is never going to happen.

The 1 seed Oregon having to play Ohio state. While pedo state gets SMU and then Boise.
At minimum you remove the auto bid for conference champ and you reseed

The intent was always to make sure that the highest ranked G-5 champ would get a spot in the field.

Having a G-5 is such a wasted spot. Boise had a team known to choke in big games and didn’t get it done.
