Boone NC etc . My wife, because she is awesome, wants to book a secluded or private cabin or house in Mountains for our anniversary. I haven’t done this in years.

I am picking these areas as they are driving range and we don’t want to screw with flying. I would love a place with fishing or maybe hunting possibilities. Some place that would let us take dogs too would be awesome. We just want to be able to relax, take walks in the woods and chill out without dealing with any neighbors etc.

If any of you guys have any ideas if even just on great areas greatly appreciated. Going in January/Feb
time frame.

Blue Ridge, Georgia… low key, excellent dining options, and great fishing.

Blue Ridge, Georgia

Came to say this. It's great for how close it is. We actually stayed in Ellijay, but great area. Caught plenty of trout, lots of wineries too.

+1 for Blue Ridge. There are usually many VRBO available along the Toccoa River and a few diffferent Outfitters located in downtown Blue Ridge. There are a few public access points available. We stayed near the Curtis Switch bridge and there was a popular access to the river there.

I’ve stayed at Hidden Mountain Resorts in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area and always enjoyed the high quality cabins they have. Prices were reasonable and it’s relatively close to town.

Cheaha State Park has a few cabins. Hotel as well, but that's way different than a cabin to yourself. Not a whole lot to do in the winter except hike some trails.

Blue Ridge Ga is easy to get to from NoLA and BR. Flight to ATL and 2 hour easy drive. And it’s a great place. Get one with a big arse fireplace.

Me and the family are checking out of the first link this morning. It’s about 10min drive to Ellijay but very secluded. You’ve got 4 wineries within 7min of cabin. Stream is full of native brown trout.

2nd is probably my favorite for just me and the wife. It’s in McCayseville, GA. Short drive to Blue Ridge. It’s located on Fightingtown Creek which is private and stocked with rainbow trout. Both fantastic places and dog friendly. Our plan is to retire up here somewhere one of these days.
