Clearly people don’t know what they want here …. Do we not want to tank? If you’re tanking there is no need to do anything … clear out the front office after the season and let a new front office figure out the coaching …. Everyone who wants to fire green right now … then what ? Win more games pick ten in the draft and be in hell ? …

I'd be kind of upset if they fire Willie at this point. He's our best chance at the most possible upside this year, high chances at a top2 pick.

Why do we want to risk a new coach rally.

I effing hate tanking. And I hate how glib and giddy people get about it, like it's a big laugh. Wanting your team to fail, intentionally, for months on end is toxic and corrosive to the players, the organization and the fanbase. For what? A somewhat better chance to draft a player who may or may not (see Zion) play savior and reverse your squad's fortunes? Real sustainable success is built from the ground up, every day. It's in the culture, in the coaching in the character of the players. That's what to focus on building not lazing around for months waiting for the magic ticket that will supposedly fix everything.

This culture of tanking is among the things that have gone wrong in the modern NBA. Fortunately, there's an easy fix, one that should have been implemented years ago: Make the draft lottery a true lottery. All fourteen teams that miss the playoffs have an equal chance at the number one pick. No advantage is given to teams based on their record and therefore there is no incentive to tank and be as lousy as possible.

I'm always surprised when Pels/Saints fans get excited about a very high draft pick. No player worth a shite wants to come to New Orleans, so hoping to draft ANOTHER "generational talent" is pretty dumb

Your comment makes no sense … if no great player wants to come to New Orleans via free agency then your recourse is to draft them ..: so why is it dumb for fans to want to draft a star

Also I hate tanking too … but that’s just were we are at … and yeah you can make the lottery a true lottery but it’s not one …. Like I said you fire the front office after the season .. let them evaluate coaching … and go from there …

It's just emotional and bored fans . Tanking is the best thing for real fans. People complain and whine about Griff and Green. Want them gone? Have a historical shitty season. That's the cost.

I get it but at 30 losses you’ve effectively done the job you needed to do.

7 of the next 14 games are against the bottom of the league teams, and you get the Mavs without Luka, who have lost 3 of 4 since he went down.
Will be interesting to see how the month of January goes. There are easily 8 winnable games there, and Jose and Zion should be back by the Mavs game I would think.
