In Interstellar, on the water planet, the ticking sound in the soundtrack occurs every 2.5

Are there enough ticks on the soundtrack to account for the 20 year difference between landing and taking off?
20x365 =7,300 one second ticks. That means you need 18,000 (give or take) seconds for a 2 second tick clock to get to 20 years. You would need a 5 hour movie to have enough ticks?
I won’t bother to work all that math exactly. Needless to say, the water planet scene is not an hour long let alone 5 hours.

The movie skips over their wait time for the engines to dry out…

That does add an interesting dynamic to it considering that and the scene following when he listened to Murphs message from back home coupled together is one of the best scenes of the movie. Great movie indeed

Coming to Netflix in the next couple of weeks if I remember correctly.
Probably watch it once a year. Second favorite movie of all time.

Very excited for his Odyssey movie. I wish he would have started with the Iliad and made it a two movie series. That way as we can wipe the movie Troy from our memories.

It always bothered me how fricking slow Doyle was in that scene. He VERY EASILY could've gotten back into the ship. He just stood there like a goon and didn't move, even after he sees the ginormous wave coming at them. Both Brand and CASE manage to get into the Ranger in under 4 seconds, and then Doyle literally stands there for an additional TEN seconds without moving. He could've taken his time stepping in and still had a few seconds to spare before the wave hit them.
I know it was done for dramatic effect, but that's always bugged me.

If Gargantua had enough gravity to dilate time, why were their bodies not crushed to smithereens?

You spelled 1.25 wrong.

Great Movie.
It is great, but you have to overlook the ending which made absolutely no sense.

Mine too. You're #1 isn't Jaws by chance is it?

So finally got around to watching.... I'm guessing I'll have to go back and watch again, but on first pass, wasn't that impressed.
The first 30-45 min felt like I was on ADHD with how quickly things were jumping and the likes.
It was a good movie, but not great on first pass IMO. That may change after another watch.

it was stupid of them to even go to the water planet in the first place

Fun fact, as of today 1 hour, 25 minutes, and 43 seconds have passed on Millers planet

Just watched it again and was reminded how much I hate Nolan's sound editing. Had to turn on CC as it's about impossible to hear some of the dialogue even with the sound way up.
