First the animals that murdered the tourist
. Now here is a pic of the judge but I’m sure you could have guessed what she looked like
Mariah Campbell is charged with accessory after the fact and has been free since posting a $50,000 bond in July. Cameron Lindsey is charged with obstruction of justice and had bond set at $5,000. Court records show Judge Campbell also granted him permission to leave the jurisdiction at a Dec. 4 hearing. Nah nothing corrupt at all

A New Orleans judge has made the unusual decision to allow a woman accused of murdering a man on Bourbon Street last summer to await trial at home in Mississippi, court records show. Orleans Parish Criminal District Judge Nandi Campbell on Dec. 18 granted permission for accused killer Mia Lindsey to leave Louisiana and stay on “24/7 home incarceration” at her residence in Columbia, Miss., while awaiting trial in New Orleans, records show.
quote:New Orleans police said Lindsey fled the scene of the fatal Bourbon Street shooting in June and was tracked down and arrested two days later in Columbia, Miss., through a joint operation involving the NOPD, Louisiana State Police, the FBI New Orleans violent crime task force, Columbia (Miss.) Police and the Marion County (Miss.) Sheriff’s Office. Veteran prosecutors said it is extremely rare for a murder defendant to be granted permission to leave the state while their trial is pending, particularly when the suspect had to be hunted as a fugitive. Available online court records give no indication of the judge’s reasoning for the decision. The records also do not indicate that the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office lodged an objection to Lindsey being allowed to leave the state.
Lindsey, 22, was indicted in October by an Orleans Parish grand jury on charges of second-degree murder and obstruction of justice. Campbell set her bond at $525,000 at the Dec. 18 hearing. Her attorney has filed court notice of a “possible justification defense.” Lindsey is accused of firing gunshots in the 600 block of Bourbon Street around 4:07 a.m. on June 22, one of which struck 39-year-old bystander Christopher Oatts Jr. in the head, killing the father of two from Altamonte Springs, Fla. Oatts, a warehouse manager for SeaWorld in Orlando, was making a weekend tourist visit to New Orleans with siblings and cousins when he was killed
quote:Scheduled to face trial along with Mia Lindsey are two 26-year-old co-defendants -- Mariah Campbell and Cameron Lindsey.
Campbell and Orleans Parish DA Jason Williams are former colleagues at Williams’ criminal defense firm. Campbell, elected to the criminal court bench in November 2020, was the judge chosen to swear Williams into office at a January 2021 ceremony.

I wonder if she will cry when these animals are convicted like she cried when the priest was convicted.

I can't help but notice the judge and one of the defendants have the same last name

George Soros strikes again. This D.A., who apparently did not challenge the judge's order, actually survived a recall. That's how bad Orleans Parish's judicial system is

I used to think it might be a good idea to get some defense attorneys in the DAs office and in some judgeships.
I was so very wrong.

Ummm…no he didn’t. There has been no recall effort against him.

Most OP judges are thug trash voted in by thug trash.

Well, innocent until proven guilty. Bail is set for a reason. Is it better to have someone sitting in a parish jail taking up resources and costing you money, or have them sitting at home until trial hits. Remember, they aren’t guilty until convicted at trial so you cannot claim they are a criminal yet.
The real question is was bail granted on other similar shootings? It seems like in a shooting case, you should be taking up resources in parish jail.

To be fair, inmates can pretty much walk out the front door of the Parish jail unimpeded.
