Basically everything a faction of the MAGA movement hates right now.

But let me give you some background first and then we can get into the questions:

- Came to the US in 23+ years ago on a student visa and met my wife grad school, who was also on a student visa
- We both got dual graduate degrees in engineering while we were here
- We were on a H1B visa for 16 agonizing years before we got our green cards and on our way to becoming naturalized citizens soon (25 years after we first came to this country legally)
- We both work for the Mag 7 and now make $750K+ per year combined (mainly driven by living in a HCOL area + RSU stock appreciation) but early in our careers also started with relatively big base salaries since we were working for big tech ($300K+ combined), so would like to think we didn't displace any entry level American workers at a Edison HQ or a Disney IT department
- We own 3 homes, and rent out two of them and have two US born children in middle school and our kids do piano, chess, robotics, basketball and swimming which is par for the course among other immigrant families, which got Vivek in a bit of a trouble on Twitter yesterday for saying out aloud

Now AMA. I may even answer Laura Loomer or Josiah Lippincott type questions.

Do you think younger Americans lack work ethic and discipline?

Congrats and blessings to you. You did it the right way and should be commended for your early sacrifice and determination.

Do you think things are different now than 23 years ago in terms of American educated vs immigrant talent? Both in skill and need.

Do you consider yourself grateful and lucky or do you consider yourself “necessary”?

How have you seen companies abuse the H1B workers in your career? Did you try to stop it or did you have no say?

Do you think there’s a hiring bias where Indians get in management and only hire other Indians?

Now, there are some MAGA supporters that don’t understand basic concepts of immigration. But I know of no one that doesn’t support legal immigration

What bothers me about H1B isn’t the high paying jobs being taken but the entry level and/or blue collar jobs being taken. Part of what made me quit long haul trucking (besides getting old) is that it’s getting flooded with an innumerable amount of foreigners, most of whom are total retards who don’t belong behind the wheel.

Tl;dr if we have an economy that is “strong” but built on low quality labor and production then we don’t have a strong economy at all. That’s really my gripe

Are you from a squatting country? How's your American Diet been on your ability to squat?

Who paid for your college degrees? (of both you and your wife)

Quite curious

Why is this such a big issue on this board?

America has always attracted the best. It makes us better.

Not illegals that come to leech. I'm having a difficult time with this anti-skilled push back on any imigrant that's doing things correctly.

If you are intelligent and skilled you shouldnt be scared of compitition. I'm not the brightest, but never had a problem getting hired in my field of work.

What hampered you and your wife in achieving such goals in your home country(ies)? Could you have done it there more difficultly or was it pretty much impossible? What would need to change there in order for that to have happened?

In your respective field(s), is there a driving need for more H1B visas? If so, why do you think that is?

Where are the homes located? I'm not sure I'd rent now days, but it's all about location and tenants.....IMHO
