I may get downvoted because of the nature of his performance in the Super Bowl, but I'm going to go with Doug Williams. He finished with a career completion percentage of less than 50%, finishing his playing days without so much as a Pro Bowl appearance. His explosion of greatness in Super Bowl XXII was something of a one-off.

Dilfer was not superbowl mvp

There’s been a couple defensive winners that probably fit the bill. Cowboys I believe have a corner that had a career game, got cashed out by the raiders and then sucked the rest of his career

The linebacker who won it for Seattle in 2013 I think had a middling career after that

ETA Larry brown was the cowboys corner, Malcom Smith was the Seattle linebacker

Desmond Howard has an argument simply off of positional value. He’s the only guy who really was a career special teamer. Had a great career still in his own way but compared to the list of HOFers that have won Super Bowl MVP, hes in the running

ETA I totally overlooked the QB part of OP my bad

It's between him and Foles. Foles did have that incredible 2013 season so that probably gives him a leg up on Williams.

Dilfer worst to win a SB*.

Larry Brown parlayed that ring into $$$, then fell off the face of the earth.

In 1987 the year Doug Williams won Super Bow MVP-

He started two regular season games that year, the Redskins lost both. The Redskins only lost 4 games all season and that was half of them.
He got benched in favor of Ed Rubbert, who won all three of his starts when Jay Schroeder was hurt. But him and Smith went off on the Broncos.

John Elway being outplayed by career journeyman Doug Williams was as bad as Drew Brees being outplayed by Jarrd Goff in the 2018 NFC Championship game

Dilfer is so notoriously bad that people have Mandela effected themselves into thinking he was good in the superbowl

Rypien wasn't that good either but I'd go with Foles over Williams.

That, or the lack of either reading the title to see it say "SB MVP", or the lack of even Googling "SB MVPs" possibly shows some insight into the American electorate.

Think my vote would have to go to Jim Plunkett. Even during his time on a good Raiders team/franchise, he threw more INTs than TDs. Though one could argue Rod Martin's 3 INTs might have been more deserving.

Doug Williams had to play the first five seasons of his NFL career with Tampa Bay.

Nick Foles is probably the answer

Rypien had an outstanding season that SB year. Foles also had an outstanding season during his career, though it wasn't the SB year.
