Your parents were born here and your grandparents and great grandparents and great great grandparents.
Worked your arse off and excited to apply for jobs. Great grades and a stellar resume
Denied.
Instead Pajeet is hired. He doesn’t actually live in the United States. But he is coming.
The company you interviewed with now has a higher ESG score. They will pay lower investment fees and have better odds of receiving financing at a lower rate.
Good job 5th generation American! Living the dream

Imagine realizing what the media in this country has done for the better part of 25+ years, and still getting played like a fiddle by them.

This has been going on for years
As someone who works with a lot of these overseas “engineers” they are just like us
Most of them really suck at their job. Some are great.
They usually do EXACTLY what they are told with little problem solving outside the box.

If this was true you wouldnt have to worry about foreigners taking your job.

I think if everyone shares more anecdotal and hypothetical scenarios then we will definitely all finally agree.

You underestimate corporate greed by a longshot

I feel like if these were white Western Europeans coming in the complaining would be less (though still valid).

What a purely false and idiotic statement. Companies are basically required to hire non Americans.

Tech oligarchs see the United States as a corporation and its citizens as their at will employees. They're hiring new employees (citizens).

Yeah. Businesses never choose their bottom line over loyalty to their employees...

How about living here all your life. Being a female and encouraged to get a STEM major your entire school life. Graduate college with a 4.0 with Psychology and communication disorders double major. Decide that instead of becoming a speech therapist, you'd rather work on alternative communication devices. Get another degree in computer science.
Land a job with McKesson (a top healthcare company). A year later find out your whole division is being outsourced to India and the company wants you to train your replacement.
Don't give up. Get another computer science. Right before your grandma dies and your wedding when you have Covid, you find out your whole department is being laid off.
That's my daughter. She's actually teaching computer science to the kids of those H1B visa holders now.

Progressive white ladies who gave us this Idiotarian culture can’t connect the dots. And when Pajeet gets the job over their precious Jackson they have no idea THEY built that. I’m so fricking tire of low information white women building a culture men have to disassemble and reconstruct.

Imagine if your parents don’t have the same coding skills that Pejeet has and Pajeet is willing to accept a cheaper salary than your untalented parents
Your untalented parents feel entitled because they are Americans even though your parents don’t have half the skills that Pajeet brings to the table -
how is this fair to businesses looking to hire the best and most talented people in the world?

Imagine living here all your life. Your family living here all their life.
Your ancestors Fought in
The Revolutionary War,
The Alamo,
Fighting and dying in the The Civil war and leaving children fatherless.
WWI
and WWII
And then be told that you and your entire family is what is wrong with this country.
