Because we just don't want a bunch of people from India here, or people from other cultures. I know that sounds really mean and racist, but this is how everyone feels deep down and how people have been from the beginning of time, we've just been so manipulated with multi-cultural propoganda and it's been instilled in everyone thru the school system and media, how being a racist is the worst possible thing imaginable.

But all the arguments about taxes, and taking jobs, yea yea those might have some merit. But ultimately I just don't care for their culture and I like traditional Western/Christian culture better. I don't want to have to share a culture or a country or a community with them. I am fine with my own people.

Keep in mind, since we have a "citizen run" government. This in theory means that the people are in charge. So every person we bring here, we are giving them representation to run a small portion of our government. If you bring in a million people from a country, you are essentially giving that country representative power in your own government, and look no further than how their own country is run if you would like to see what that looks like here.

Small, select doses of uniquely qualified immigrants is not bad. But bringing them in as blocks, where they are not forced to assimilate and they do nothing but take basic jobs from our own people who could use those jobs, is not a healthy immigration system.

We definitely need to put a hard pause on immigration. Fix the issues we have. Pump up traditional values, so there's pride in this nation again. Then see where we are.

Can't keep importing skilled/unskilled low pay workers, and continue to crap on natives for being lazy. Fix the natives.

We have something like 30 to 40 million Illegal Immigrants here already. Knowing that there is literally zero need for ANY immigration period at this point. We don’t need any more Immigration period when we have that number if Illegals already here. And any of them who have spit out a baby here which is a lot of them aren’t going to be deported. Trump will deport a small number of criminal Illegals and then tell his sycophants he had deported 5 million and they will believe him. Wait and see.

Elon and Vivek seem to think there is an existential crisis if we don’t import the Indians who appear to be the only engineers on the planet. They oppose building up engineers in America because it would take too long or building up alt schools because it would also take too long. Take too long for what? Very strange.

For me it's not their culture, it's that they're being used as slave labor. We never ended slavery, we just repackaged it in a pretty box.

Voluntary transactions are not "slave labor."

America is just too expensive.

This is another classic cope I hear why people don't like immigration. I wish everyone could just be honest with themselves. We just don't want all of them here, it's that simple. It saves you the trouble of having to get into all of these complicated debates. I am sure there is some metric somewhere some egghead could show that says bringing a bunch of Indians ultimately makes Google a little more efficient in certain areas.

But who cares? Are we a country or not? Or are we just this hyper-effficiency obsessed economic zone.

Immigration which brings in intelligent hard working people who at least in part assimilate to American culture, believe in meritocracy, master the English language and abiding by our laws are a positive for our country. There is perhaps no group that exemplifies this more so than Asian Indians.
Your post highlights the worst parts of actual Xenophobia (not the woke version looking for any place to apply it to cancel someone).
This is a global economy. And a very competitive one at that. Any action to lessen our ability to stay at the forefront of nations is bad.
Note how I do not mention the mass illegal migration that is probably a net negative for our country and is done not for the benefit of our country as a whole but probably for political reasons. Likewise the mass migrations in Europe that have completely changed the demographics of those countries and will erode the culture as the majority of new babies born are from immigrants so simple math says things will change.
So there needs to be a balance and neither extreme (no immigration vs no immigration laws/open borders) is the way to go.
Priority 1A and 1B should be closed border and abolished birth right citizenship (a relic of the civil war).

Good post

I don’t want them here because I don’t want a bunch of browns with no manners or morals coming on to my daughter. It makes me sick. My ancestors who have been here for 400+ years and spilled blood building this country would be horrified. I don’t care that it’s racist. The world is racist, and if we don’t get with the program we will be finished. The only culture in history to go willingly to the gallows we built for ourselves.

Youre way too impressed with white soy boys and Karens.

They are the reason this country is faltering, not some brown people who code.

I got a perfect score on my ACT, a perfect score on the math section of my SAT, and a scholarship to Rice University.

Didn't stop me from being laid off 3 times in my career in favor of Indians - twice my job was offshored, the other time I was replaced on site by an Indian. Getting a job in the Dallas Fort Worth area was damn near impossible as I would consistently interview for jobs only to be rejected (often by Indian hiring managers) so I had to move to an area that hasn't been overtaken by Indians (yet).

But according to big tech bros and H1B shills/apologists, I got laid off 3 times because I am bad at my job and dumb and lazy. And there is totally a labor shortage in my field, but hiring me is not a solution to this massive labor shortage because I am dumb and lazy and not as capable as Prajesh or Sunjeet.

It would take a generation or two to rid the progressive brainwashed trash from our country. its likely an impossible task to be honest. these people are talking politics to their 2 year olds on the daily. not sure how you would even begin to get these people to change their mind especially if they only double down after the last 4 years.

This progressivism is domestic, not imported.

1000%

hard pause on all immigration...5 years minimum. Have lots of stuff to fix here first.

after that...open to professionals with a degree or are some kind of subject matter expert that allows them to have a very high paying job

also i do believe when we do resume...there needs to be some form of IQ testing and it needs to be more of our traditional immigrants, whites from northern europe.

and we need to be enforcing Teddys thoughts...we only have room for americans....people who want to assimilate, speak our language and are loyal to only one country...the United states.

I don't think many people look at this in a racist way at all. Any "anti-Indian" or anti-Whoever sentiment seems to always be a backlash. I have heard from people here and elsewhere that when many of these immigrants come here, they don't hire Americans. American companies hired them, America let them in, America and Americans provide a better life for them at our universities and job market, but once they are in the position to make the hires, they don't hire Americans. That is a backlash trigger for many people. But, Americans just toting around a bias against Indians? No, I don't see that.

Nobody opposes this. The problem is Americans aren't qualifying for the jobs due to their choices. Freedom, and what not.
