When did constant Christmas Eve night fireworks become a thing?

Do these morons not understand kids need to sleep undisturbed all night tonight? It sounds like a war zone outside right now.

Fireworks don’t exactly jive with this:

quote:

Twas the night before Christmas,
when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring,
not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;

It’s unforgivably ridiculous to be popping hours long fireworks celebrations on Christmas Eve.

To be fair, the FireWorks aren't going off, "all through the house"

More, around the house.

"'Twas the night before Christmas,
And all round the house.
The fireworks popped,
Thanks to dudes from down south,

The Karens complained,
But they just didn't care,
They said "no comprende"
Mariachi bands blared,

someone cried out "La Migra!"
In the dark of the night,
And a hundred bad hombres,
They all ran out of sight."
