Former Tulane quarterback Darian Mensah reportedly has a multi-million dollar NIL deal in place after transferring to Duke.

Mensah transferred to Duke three days after reports surfaced that he had entered the transfer portal. It's now being reported by John Talty and Chris Hummer of CBS Sports that Mensah landed an NIL deal worth $8 million over two years.

The deal would unofficially make Mensah the highest paid player in college football with an annual average of $4 million per season according to the report.

It cracks me up as well that all these SEC fans think they were not paying. All they gotta do is talk to someone.
NIL just evened the playing field

All big programs had the same stuff going on, but the money now with NIL, since it's out in the open and above board, is dramatically different.

Brock Purdy was paid, what, $175k a year?

That was to start as an actual professional, and he’s been a good one.

We have a client that said he will stay in college for as long as possible because the possibility of him making more money in final two years of college is greater than what his draft ceiling contract would be first 2-3 years in NFL. Give the kid credit for knowing how to maximize his value. If he flames out he’s still set for the next several years of life and into his career.

The lowest Purdy made was 700k+, he's over a mil now.

I'm perfectly fine with him taking the money. I'm even ok with the way he left the team the way that he did, especially if the money at the end of that rainbow was anywhere near what is being reported.

My question is was Maalik Murphy that bad for Duke for them to essentially pack his bags for him on his way back into the portal? I would imagine Murphy would've stayed for half of what Mensah reportedly got from Duke.

It's probably like 800k then a bunch of incentives and he gets 4 mil if he wins the Heisman during their undefeated national title season.
