If that position is as bad as it was the last two years, it’s going to be another long year on defense. You can’t win consistently and win a championship with piss-poor safety play. This position could very well be the thing that sinks this season.

Are we in on the South Florida safety still or any other prospects?

Dude, relax. They are addressing safety. Just let the kids finish their seasons and officially enter the portal. It's gonna be okay.

Moscona says he has heard that we have silents from kids currently playing football. He did say that its possible that these kids are using LSU to get their current school to offer more money but Safety is being addressed.

We know we need them without another thread on it.

Help is on the way but I think we’re already in a good position to improve, with real corner talent on the outside and a few guys who can play multiple spots - it opens up Torvino to play his natural position at safety and I think if we end up not adding one of these playoff safety’s, we have some guys that could play free safety for us

Additionally the front 7 if they live up to the build will put so much less pressure on the back end of the defense. There’s a reason why we had a few games of actual defensive dominance, and it started with up front penetration.

Sounds like everyone has given up on Spears. If he had signed elsewhere, the board would be clamoring to bring him back home through the portal.

Not at all.... I'd ride with what we have unless a real deal outstanding number one comes available. Spears and Toviano/Rogers can do the job I am confident.

With all of the CB talent coming in to go with Stamps and Woodland, I wouldn't be surprised if Delane plays safety as well.

Delane will be a CB over either Stamps or Woodland. I can guarantee you that.
