What are our realistic expectations for Beth this year?

Does she need to make it to Oklahoma to keep her job? I would say so. Her unwillingness to move off Howard Dobson is just ridiculous. Especially when you have the St.Amant Head Coach practically begging for a job. Those girls can hit! I went to a game of theirs last year, (daughter had a friend on the team, no perverted assumptions plz) and boy did they hit.

I think Woody needs to get off his hands if Beth is not in Oklahoma. If not, my mind might wander to the possibility of a possible unethical relationship between Woody and Beth.

Howard Dobson is gone, he has moved on so he is no longer the hitting coach, I think Beth is a steady coach who can recruit with the best but the player development has been the issue, maybe change of coaches will help with development

Losing Danieca Coffey last year was a killer. With her in the one spot in the hitting order, they had the makings of a great year in sight.

Last year's team should have been an OKC team.

Thiings have gotten stale the last few years and the addition of 2 of the best programs in the nation isn’t going to help.
Although St. Amant may be a very good local team, I would hope LSU could atttact some prominent names

I hope they win it all but I expect that LSU softball will be low in my concern list regarding LSU athletics

an aside: that black jacket is nice

Not sure what the donor mindset is right now. All monetary focus is on football at the moment. Boosters are being pressured on NIL on FB, basketball, and baseball. So the uncertainty on money support as you go down the non-revenue sports hole.

Not to say anyone is giving up on softball but how much cash is dedicated to that program from outside sources?

Baseball and softball to me will never be a "championship or bust" kind of season, simply because the tournament is such a damn crap shoot of who is hot at the right time. Outside of Oklahoma softball being just a machine, if you play those tournaments 30 times you might get 20 different winners. To me a good season is top 16 and a great season is top 8. For me to want her on the hot seat, we would have to be in a position of sweating out the selection show on the bubble or out of it completely.

2023 LSU baseball was 100% a national title or bust season. That was the expectation for that team, nothing less.

And they met it.

I’m not privy on Softball recruiting world, but isn’t this pitcher coming in from Florida??Ga??(the state) not portal supposed to be the sht. If she’s great a pitcher can make all the difference in the world. Coffey healthy is one of the best lead-offs in the SEC. Just those 2 alone can carry you pretty far. Now I’m assuming both the Freshman is worldly and that Coffey is healthy. The SEC is the World Series- especially with OU in

With UT and OU now in the SEC, I'm not expecting much.

We had arguably the best 1-2 punch pitching duo in the nation a few years back with Hoover and Walljasper, and still couldn't get it done because we couldn't back them up at the plate.

I had not heard that. Who has replaced him? I wish her well, but my expectations are not great. They get some nice wins against strong teams, but always lose series to teams they have no busy losing to every year. I expect to move even lowed in the SEC pack with Texas and OU coming in.
