Personally I’d love it.

how would LSU fans feel about one of the most talented defensive players we’ve had returning for his senior season? I’d guess pretty good

Would like to have him back. The staff needs to not force him into spots that he can’t handle though. He doesn’t have to be on the field every single play, especially coming off of injury.

If we decide to use him in his best role, I'm all for it.
Not sure about his injury, progress, etc.

Him coming back is great for LSU. We have the surrounding pieces on defense now where he can shine

It would be great. We could stand to temper our expectations of him especially considering his injury. However, even if he is not the next Heisman winner, he is still an exceptional player.

I'd love to see him at the star position. He moves so well, you can always use another great defensive weapon like Perkins

He’s a talented player. They can only make your team better. They’ll figure it out. Now that our DT and DE situation is better he may get more opportunities as teams can’t focus on just him.

Trim some weight, get his quickness and speed back a bit, and play him at Strong safety, in the style of Honey Badger.
He can influence game for LSU much better at that position than MLB imo
Hope they do it, LSU needs major help at safety position.

If this were 2022, I’d feel great. But, he hasn’t played at an elite level going on three years coming off major knee surgery. Call me cautiously optimistic.

Let him come back, put him in position to rush off the edge and let him eat.

He's neither an every down LB nor a safety. He's a tweener. He needs to accept the fact that he's a guy who comes off the edge in obvious passing situations. If he does, he can thrive in that role.

The problem with this is teams will run right at him negating this. He doesnt shed blocks well ,his too small to go against sec olinemen every down, and outside of pursuit his tackling isnt elite.
He needs to lose about 10 -15 lbs and move to safety.

At this point he is not a LB. Can he learn Safety in 1 year? Extremely talented, not arguing that....but please share what his spot actually is? A third down pass rushing spot? Or should I say, third and long pash rushing spot?

I agree. Amazing how many still feel like he is "being misused" or "turn him loose" etc. like it is the coaches fault that he isn't succeeding anymore. The problem is he is a tweener. He was such a force in the 2022 Arkansas game when he almost singlehandedly won that game because Arkansas didn't account for him. Not a shocker that when a player on offense or defense becomes a problem for opponents, they solve the issue eventually. Until he becomes stronger and a better tackler Perkins simply is not that much of a factor anymore. After he got hurt and Weeks played a lot more, I said that LSU's defense would actually be better and it was. It isn't the coaches responsibility to find a spot for him. It is on him to improve his strength and not just be a very good athlete.

I think with Baker being the DC he will better help him play the position better.
