Might as well have one thread to put simulated trades/ ideas in. Here's an insane one that will never happen to get things going.

Pels:
Isaiah Stewart
Cam Johnson
Cam Whitmore
Tari Eason
Tim Hardaway JR
Jeff Green
(1) 1st Detroit
(1) 1st Houston

Nets:
CJ
Theis

Pistons:
Dillon Brooks
Jalen Green
Jock Landale
Steven Adams
Dennis Schroder

Rockets:
Zion
Tobias Harris
Javonte Green

Same.

This team is so much more fun to watch without BI and Zion, even if they still suck.

If i have to watch BI pass up an open 3 to dribble into a contested middy one more time i will claw my eyes out

Cavs- McCollum

Nets- Zion

Pelicans- Bogdanovic, DFS, Levert, Strus, 3 1sts from the Nets (Milwaukee 2025, Knicks 2025 and 2027), plus 2 2nds from the Cavs.

We get 4 mid level contracts that are more movable (2 are expiring). A few picks. This gives us more flexibility to move Ingram, at the deadline (if he's healthy).

Its not the haul most are hoping for, but it's not going to get better if he doesn't play..

Hawk
Boston
Jose
Yves
Herb
Trey

That's a 6 man rotation that would be fun

Fun to play around. That's a terrible trade for the Rockets.

They give up:

Brooks
Green
Whitmore
Eason
1st round pick

to get Tobias Harris and fat, injured Zion?

Rockets are a contender, they are not doing that one.

Exactly. I can handle being bad. I can't handle being boring.

Rockets: Jimmy Butler

Heat: Ingram, Dillon Brooks, Jordan Clarkson, Walker Kessler

Jazz: Steven Adams, Jamie Jaquez, Theis, Larson, protected 1st from Houston

Pels: Duncan Robinson, JSJ, Nikola Jovic, 2nds from Houston

Rockets land Butler who is rumored to want to be there

Jazz get a young guard for Clarkson and Kessler along with a pick

Miami gets younger and better

Pels get off Ingram while adding shooting and a couple bigs that can play the 4/5 and also shoot. This would make us a fun high scoring team, but still be able to lose enough to get in the high lottery.

They actually can't pay either of Eason/ Whitmore and they essentially signed Green to trade him as he is their (4th) most important player behind JSJ, Sengun, and Sheppard.

3/7 Glad to get off: Adams, Green, Brooks.
3/7 They can't afford: Green, Whitmore, Eason
1/7 is Jock Landale.
And they get the 2 best players + space

Green+ Brooks+ Landale = 62mil next year
Zion + Tobias Harris = 65mil next year

So they actually save money on their current roster WITHOUT even having to pay Whitmore/ Eason more money.

Houston cannot pay all their young guys or even half of them. Tate, Sheppard, Eason, Whitmore, Thompson, JSJ all need new contracts with more money. And they still have Holiday/ Landale team options next year.

Add those to Herro and Bam, plus the other remaining pieces.. that team would be a terror. What kind of deal would Ingram get? This has to be the dream scenario for him..

Way too many teams and players to be realistic.

A 3-way with the Pels, Rockets and Heat may be possible, but obviously gets tricky. Something like:
Heat: BI, Adams
Rockets: - Butler
Pelicans - JSJ, Green, Tate and another player in the $10 million range. Would the Rockets part with Thompson? If not, would the Pels accept Landale and some 2nds instead?

There also may need to be some picks flying around as well or the Pels could send filler (Theis?) to Heat for Jovic if Pels need sweetener.

Houston is in a tough position because they have so many players that will be expiring or needing new contracts. And then they have $75mil in (3) players that they would trade in a heartbeat for upgrades.

Houston and Detroit have the most trade flexibility IMO.

If i can turn BI into JSJ, filler and 2nds then im taking that and running.

I'm still a huge JSJ believer

There’s a major flaw in your plan. I wouldn’t take Zion for free if he was being given away for nothing.

Is that really from the site? Hollinger's assessment would be 6 less win? No wonder that idiot is not in the NBA any longer.

I'll start with I DO NOT WANT TO TRADE HERB. That out of the way I think this is a pretty good return for a team that should absolutely embrace the tank and look to trade Zion as soon as he reasonably regains his trade value.

Pels get:
Dillon Brooks
Reed Sheppard
Jabari Smith Jr.
Amen Thompson

Heat Get:
Brandon Ingram
Steven Thompson

Rockets Get:
Jimmy Butler
Herb Jones
Pelle Larsson

Stephen Thompson is a UFC fighter. Wonderboy.
Amen Thompson is untouchable.
Defense as good as Herb with point guard handle and passing. And young with more rookie contract years. And as we know, Griffin isn't trading Herb.
Heat would just take those valuable Rockets players over Ingram in this scenario.

Not a trade idea...but...just a kinda scary thought.

The OKC Thunder have so many solid draft picks over the next coupla years...that they can pretty much "make an offer we can't refuse"...for just about ANY player we have on our roster. Then again...it might be the best thing that could happen in the long term...for the Pelicans.

Well Presti is smart enough to not trade for Ingram, Zion or CJ. So I guess you're referring to Herb, Murphy or Murray possibly. Think they're content with their great roster and elite defense, with flexibility to re-sign their own emerging stars and keep drafting high level talent that fits their style.
