If the DOJ just did their job the democrats will cry that Trump weaponized the DOJ.

No. Scorched earth. The only way the left will understand the damage it did and fear doing it in the future is to burn them down to the ground with DOJ prosecutions.

I don't know if he needs to, he just needs to have an AG that applies the law to go after the people who already weaponized the DOJ.

Scorched earth sounds good, but
1. Trump has zero history of this
2. It will just end up being a seesaw the next time the Dems have the WH.

Punish the people who abused it so it won't be abused in the future.

Sort of?

What he needs to do is weaponize it against those who turned it into a weapon in the first place, but limit it to that. If he pulls a Biden and uses it to go after anyone who opposes him, then he just cements that doing so is now the new standard going forward for all Presidents regardless of party.

That's the opposite of what anyone sane should want.

Here’s what believe. If there are no consequences for the last 4 years of weaponization of the DOJ, it will only encourage the continuation of doing so when/if the Demons get back in power. I look at it the same way as all the voter fraud. If it’s not strictly addressed, it will continue to happen.

Weaponize is such an ugly word.

I prefer to view it as a reckoning .

Wouldn’t Trumps action relative to the DOJ be to deweaponize it from its current deep state?

He should treat Democrats exactly as they've treated others. That is fair and that would be justice.

they dont need weaponized. Just having them enforce the law and go after bad guys will be a massive shift to the good.
