So deadlocked on the harsher count, but not guilty on the less harsh double-dip?
I suspect that the manslaughter charge only had 1 or 2 activist holdouts, with everyone else supporting acquittal. When manslaughter was dismissed, the sky screamers just gave up.

They were probably deadlocked on both at first
But the judge tossed the harsher count
So they finally got the hold out(s) on board for not guilty
