SEC babies whining about SOS and not playing OOC games is pathetic

SEC SOS is mostly a big circle jerk. 8-9 team start of ranked then they play each other and get all these ranked wins. Most of them are not playing tough OOC games to begin with. Notice Bama is not pointing to 5-7 Wisconsin as a big win. Beat 1 of 2 6-6 team and Bama is in.
Ole Miss started the season with Furman Middle Tennessee Wake Forest and Ga Southern. After the brutal gauntlet it’s no wonder they were too worn down to play 4-8 Kentucky at home. Kentuckys other 3 wins were So Miss Ohio and Murray State
Are the SEC babies gonna cut the conference schedule to 6? After years and getting the benefit of every doubt poor Gumps can’t handle one going the other way.

So what are you saying?
The SEC teams aren’t good and shouldn’t count as good wins?

If a team is going to have to play 4-5 ranked teams in conference then the committee has shown they should not play a big OOC game, schedules like SMU get you in the playoffs playing zero ranked teams or even having a single quality win.
Bama, UGA, etc should be begging to only play the worst teams in conf and out of conference for a free ride to the playoffs.
SOS no longer matters, and since there is no system like basketball and baseball have you should play scrubs all year long now.

Know how you treat your fans? You ask them to donate for player’s salaries and cut one of the 9 games worth a shite on a 12 game schedule.

Where were Vanderbilt and Oklahoma in conference this year? Bama did play them…
…and it’s why they are out?
Bama doesn’t get their way one damn year, thanks to their own fault, and everyone loses their minds. It’s hilarious

That's not true though. SOS does matter. But not losing games also matter. Why do you think 1-loss Indiana is at #10, below multiple 2-loss teams? It's due to their weaker SOS. Why do you think 2-loss UGA is over Boise and Arizona? It's due to their SOS.
When comparing 2 teams with equal number of losses, the team with a tougher SOS gets the nod. For teams with 1 more loss, the team with 1 more loss will usually still get the nod with a tougher SOS. However, when a team has 2 or more losses, having a tougher SOS will not make up the gap for losing 2 additional games.
In other words, if Bama does not lose to Oklahoma, they are almost undoubtedly in the playoffs. If Ole Miss doesn't lose to Florida, they're almost undoubtedly in the playoffs.
Despite what people say, the regular season most definitely still counts.

Oklahoma and Vanderbilt played the #4 and #8 strength of schedules.

Lol you still crying about bama losing to two 6-6 teams?

SOS is fugazi. All the sec teams are preseason ranked high and it inflates SOS.

How do preseason rankings factor into current team evaluations?
Posted on 12/8/24 at 9:36 pm to TackySweater
I’m talking about strength of schedule

Maybe playing such difficult schedules helped contribute to their 6-6 record? Maybe?

Yea you’re talking about sos and how it relates to pre season rankings.
So I’ll ask again, how are pre season rankings linked to current team evaluations and sos?

Or they are just mediocre teams lol
What about the teams that had 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, and 10 sos? By your logic, those teams should also have records similar to 6-6.

Yeah, it’s been a shameful day for SEC media coverage
Bama didn’t lose tough OOC games, they lost two conference games to below average competition, one of them was a complete blowout
Add in another loss and that’s that.
Maybe a topic for another thread, but I’m not sure we have ample evidence that the SEC is even that good this season.

They played some. Just doesn’t help when you lose them
