Having pretty bad pain in my right shoulder-especially at night. Pain wakes me up multiple times per night. Now my fingers go numb at times, I think it’s finally time to get it checked out. Who does the OT recommend? Thanks!

Go to BR and see Chip Bankston. No brainer. I’m 7 weeks out of Bicep Tenodesis with a bad SLAP tear. Doing great.

Tom Lyons. Operates out of Omega Hospital. A fine center.

You need to consult with Peyton Murphy, after all he’s Louisiana’s shoulder injury attorney.

Not in NO, but in Houston’s Fondren group....Dr. Goomberra. Took my son there yesterday after he separated his shoulder.

You need a spine surgeon not your shoulder.

Shoulder guru in New Orleans is Dr. O’Brien at Tulane

Buddy Savoie is Chair of the Dept. of Orthopedics at Tulane. He is widely regarded as one of the best shoulder surgeons in the US and pioneered many of the techniques used in shoulder surgery today. No doubt there are other very good shoulder surgeons, but Savoie is top tier by any standard.

Buddy Savoie
You will wait in the waiting room for long time because he is in such high demand. I honestly am amazed he is able to see as many people as he does

Pain that wakes you up at night and radiates into the fingers sounds like it's coming from your neck, rather than the shoulder itself.
Savoie and O'Brien are top tier in NOLA, Chip Bankston is a good choice in BR.
But, once again, your shoulder doesn't sound like the cause of your symptoms. See a good orthopedic surgeon or spine surgeon and get an MRI of your neck and possibly even nerve studies to find the true cause of your pain.

Numbness and tingling sounds more like spinal stenosis as other posters have mentioned
