They need a coach who can update the offense. It was frustrating when I was going to school there watching the option play after play. I think having Coach Arledge replace Coach Shows after he passed away was a mistake too.

Yes, very true. I guess I meant to say that once it started losing/lost its effectiveness it was frustrating. I agree that it was successful for a lot of years.

WM has been more spread for the last few years. If anything they need to go BACK to the veer. With everyone going wide open shotgun they would have a huge advantage because no one would know how to defend it consistently because the veer, along with the wing-t and flexbone, is not something you can simulate in practice in 3 days.

West Monroe is like the Iowa or Wisconsin of La football. Throughout the roster they won’t have the athletes to compete with teams south of I-10 like Destrehan, Karr, etc.
They need to stick to what they are good at. Just bludgeon teams with the veer like you did forever. Toughness, big arse Oline and dline, and a badass full back has always been their key to success. Throw in your best athlete at QB like Paul Turner and you become unstoppable.
