Is it too early to compare the job Marcus Freeman has done at Notre Dame, since taking over after Brian Kelly left to the job Brian Kelly has done at LSU?

One plays a real schedule the other plays 1 game a year so no.

ND plays absolutely no one worth a damn! Yes, they did beat USC but if we played USC today we would beat them by 21.

ND lost to NIU

Do you use this same logic when comparing Les Miles and Brian Kelly?

People love to talk about how many games that BK won at Notre Dame but now that he’s not there, winning a bunch of games at Notre Dame isn’t that impressive.

One inherited a dumpster fire while the other was handed a sports car. No comparison.

ND would smother LSU this year. Sad what LSU has become under Kelly.

Too early.

Freeman - Weak schedule plus Kelly left him with a full cupboard

Kelly - Tough schedule and had to rebuild the program basically from scratch.

They played Georgia Tech early in the season and Haynes King did not play.

They played Army as #24

They played Northern Illinois at home and lost...

No way in hell they carry a single digit ranking with that schedule... the CFP is all about TV ratings and money now.

This! When they took over their respective teams one took over a team in the playoff and the other took over a team with a WR starting at qb in a bowl game.

They also beat Texas A&M, LSU didn't. That's two teams (not "...worth a damn...") they beat that LSU couldn't. Just sayin.

it's not where we want to be, but is a whole hell of a lot better than it was when he got here.

I think it’s probably early to compare the job he’s doing at ND to Kelly at LSU

Kelly left a much better ND team to Freeman than he took over at LSU

I would say if you compare Notre Dame before and after it’s pretty favorable to Kelly.

Kelly left an 11-1 team and Freeman lost 4 and 3 games the next two years. Kelly had lost 6 games the 4 prior seasons combined. And i’m bring pretty favorable and not counting the bowl game Freeman lost. He’s just now getting back to where they were when kelly left, and he has 2 incredibly embarrassing losses on his record.

Exactly. And Bk had plenty of bad years to go along with that “weak” schedule at ND

Sure you can compare - they essentially have the same winning percentage, but Kelly plays one of the toughest schedules in the country and Freeman plays a laughably easy one. Freeman has multiple losses to non power conference schools and Kelly has none. Freeman started with a loaded roster and Kelly started with almost nothing. Obviously Kelly is head and shoulders better. Easy comparison.

I whish Kelly could have inherited an 11-1 roster when he came to LSU.

There's a pretty huge difference in, say Miles for example, inheriting a roster from Saban vs Kelly inheriting a program from Ed O.

ND’s schedule varies year by year.

There are years where they play like 10 P5 teams and some of them are big names.

so some years it is really a joke and some years it’s really
no worse than a normal Ohio State schedule and some years it can be pretty tough depending on how some of those teams are playing.

We played FSU 2 random years and going back 10’yeara that’s an easy game 8/10 years. Randomly we got them their best 2 years since Jameis left. That’s sorta how ND schedule is every year.

One took over a program with 39 players and a WR at QB.

The other took over a program a hair from the CFP.

ND’s signature wins this season are over the service academies.
