Interesting Article about Oregons collective and how Phil is bankrolling the whole thing.

More stories the better so this whole thing can blow up.

Off topic but imagine if the Waltons liked college football or Arkansas, man they would be a powerhouse in the NIL era. Their combined net worth is 228 billion dollars. Crazy

This was known a few years ago, when Knight began to face his mortality.
What's funny is he started out as a soft donor, then went big and now he's throwing the kitchen sink at it.

At this point, why not? It’s currently legal. This is the world we live in, adapt or die.
You can’t tell me if any other team could do it their fans wouldn’t be on board because there are multiple teams trying to do the same thing.

What's crazier, is that the amount of potential booster $$ in Arkansas is off the charts, but the AD can't fundraise for shite and actively campaigned against NIL for years and cut off good nose despite his face. There's no reason they shouldn't be the Oregon of the South.

This would really be Oregon’s best chance ever with a BCS or 4-team playoff but the 12 team kind of makes it a March Madness style crapshoot

If I'm the AD of a school not named Oregon I have to strongly reconsider any brand affiliation we may have with Nike. There are other shoe companies not directly working against our interests.

Feel like it would be tough to be proud of a Ship that was only won bc they had a crazy donor buying their talent.
College sports are getting to be a bit too much like the MLB.

I agree with this. Doubt Oregon wins it all....especially if they have a rematch with Ohio State. We all know how rematches go.

So Bama in football and UCLA in basketball have zero Championships? The world hasn't changed, it's just out in the open.

But I thought it was simply because Dan Lanning is a young Nick Saban

Saban would never call a time out and have his players come over to watch opposing fans leave

It has very much changed, anyone who thinks the money is the same as it was in the mystery bag man days is kidding themselves

And go to who? Aren't the people who started Under Armor Maryland grads?
And no one wants to go to a school sponsored by Rebook and New Balance is primarily for old men despite their marketing.
Nike is the premiere with Adidas a very distant second.. Just gotta win on the field.

No shite.
Nike business model is paying Michael Jordan a Billion Dollars to hawk shoes manufactured by child slave labor.
Disgusting.
Special place in hell for Phil.

Not sure what people can do, especially against Nike (an actual company that benefits from this)
