Bama, South Carolina and Ole miss are still in the talks and we beat 2 of them.
We would all have 3 losses

If we just beat Florida we would at least have had a chance to play ourselves into it in the SEC championship game

Would be a bigger cluster than it already is - beating Florida would have carried more weigh than SC

I don’t see how LSU would jump Bama with the head to head blowout loss against them.

But who knows with the playoff committee.

Yea with the tie breaker system the 4th tie breaker was conference opponent winning percentage and we had the highest. With Bama’s Oklahoma loss if we beat Florida Vandy and Oklahoma we were in the SEC Championship game. At least that’s how I heard it.

I think Florida.

I dont think a 3 game skid in the last 5 is too good for our odds.

they want hit teams too

that’s fine, but we wouldn’t stand a chance against UGA or Texas

ETA: it would’ve been Texas & Tennessee in SEC CG

No. Now that everything has played out. LSU would not have made it into the SEC championship game and the committee would have not put us in over Bama.

Oklahoma wouldn’t stand a chance against Bama… you can’t just outright dismiss a team’s chance to win a game

Would it matter?

This team would be an embarrassment in the playoffs.

2024 taught me that everyone always has a chance.

I think we’d have a chance against Texas (which is who we would play).

We’d be underdogs for sure, but we’d have a shot IMO.

I think UGA is a much better team but we would have avoided them.

Actually after seeing how the season played out, it looks like we would’ve still missed out on the SEC CG even with a win @ Florida.

6-2 Tennessee would’ve won the Tie breaker between LSU & UGA based on their 2-0 record vs Florida & Alabama

If Mizzou would have lost to Arkansas we would have made it to the SEC Championship game. They beat Arkansas 28-21. That actually might have been more nerve racking to be that close

Well that’s not the scenario posted by OP, is it?

How many “if” scenarios do we need?

Why? What about their resume stands out? I think SC's win over Clemson on the road is more impressive than anything Bama did. Bama did beat Georgia, but Ole Miss beat them much worse, and don't have two plug-ugly losses against 6-6 teams.

We would likely be in if we took care of business against USC and Florida. Those were both very winnable games that we let get away. Tennessee is 10-2 and firmly in.
