The season of "what if"

This is how i will remember this season.
What if we don't have a melt down in the second half of Texas A&M?
What if we just beat Florida, like we should have been able to do?
We would be headed to Atlanta if one of those above happen.
I believe however we that we are poised to have a great season next year, depending on who we retain from this year's roster.
Something tells me we will be surprised at who all comes back.
No sources or anything, just a gut feeling.

IMO last year was a bigger “what if.”
All we needed was better than a middle school defense.

You are correct!
What a waste
What a waste

Don't worry. Year 6 is the one

We were a young/thin team this year that struggled with injuries.
We struggled with young team issues:
- Giving up big plays at inopportune times.
- Not finishing teams when we had the chance
- Young players forced into action early
- New OC and DC (trying to) figure it out as the year goes on.
Which was also pretty amazing that we were able to come back at USCe. The Rant was so pissed off about that game, but it truly was incredible what they did. Especially looking at how USCe finished.
We scored the most points that two really solid defenses gave up (36 at USCe and 37 vs OU) despite many offensive flaws.
We had a lot of turnover this year, on the field and at the coordinator position.
This was not the season of “what if,” it was the season of growing pains.
Overall my expectations were met. We lost to UF and should have won, but beat USCe and should have lost.
I expect more next year, and Kelly does as well. It’s been made abundantly clear. We have great, experienced talent coming back at key positions and an excellent class to continue laying the foundation. If Kelly hits the portal successfully we’re in a really great place.
Who has a better starting QB than Nuss in the SEC next year? That alone puts us in a great spot.

Half of the SEC has had a “what if” season…

That is almost every LSU season, 2019 is the exception. Even 2003 & 2007 to a degree, easily could have been undefeated national championships. In fact, it is most teams season every year.

If next year it comes together, it would have been worth it.

A&M and Bama are the biggest black eyes on this season. No excuse for LSU to get dominated like that by anyone, and we made them look all world & are one of the reasons Bama probably winds up in a playoff spot instead of us — in a down season with a first year HC.
Tough pill.
Tough pill.

We got outplayed in both of those games. What if Sellers doesn’t get hurt and we don’t get a couple huge calls our way against SC? What if Ole Miss didn’t blow a game where they led all of regulation?
Easy to only look at losses and pretend they could’ve been wins, but gotta look at the other side too.
Out record was what we deserved based on our level of play. There’s a better argument that we overachieved than underachieved.
