Welcome to the looooongest offseason that we will have experienced in quite a while.
The build up to next year is going to be so exciting. I for one have never experienced all of the the events that have unfolded in the past month as an LSU fan, and that is a lot of years.

Thank God we are good at Baseball!!

Not sure who else was in the race when we hired Les Miles.

I could agree with that.
I hope if he does come back, it's not detrimental to his health.

It's just that something has had to move the needle in his direction.
Not saying i know anything, because I don't.

It's fun and painful to speculate on the next head coach. I remember when we hired BK, I ran into a player's Dad at a HS Playoff gave and he told me that the team was just informed that Lincoln Riley was going to be the next Head Coach. Them out of nowhere, BK was named HC.

Its's hard to patient.....

The state will always be the guarantor of every contract, because LSU (as a subdivision of the state of Louisiana) will always be a party to the contract. That's a pretty asinine statement for him to make, and he knows it. There's no way that you will ever have LSU as not being a guarantor to the contract, unless you want to absolve LSU of having to pay the $400,000 base salary and make TAF fully obligated for the contract.

Then it'll be the TAF Head Football Coach and not the LSU Football Coach.

He's trying to walk back the fact that he completely shite the bed in that press conference, and he knows that LSU only pays about $400,000 annually of the LSU head football coach's salary. The remainder of that money is paid by TAF, a private non-profit (this has been like this for years).

That's what I always thought also.
Again, not privileged to the legalities of how it all works.

Well I did not read the contract and I am not a lawyer, so I would not understand the language in it. Jeff is a lawyer, and that's what he stated.

He just doesn't want the tax payer on the hook.

Landry basically said that he does not want the State to be the Guarantor of a 100 million dollar contract. According to Jeff the BK contract has the state of Louisiana as that.
Can't argue with that, but I wish this would not have gone so public.
