Isn't it AWD and no low range transfer case?
Posted on 11/29/24 at 7:48 pm to Barneyrb
It’s full time 4WD not AWD. It also has a low range.

I saw that. A 4 banger is too small.
I wonder how many will make it 70k before throwing a rod.

I've seen 3 around town, all driven by boomers with handicap placards.
Baws are still buying TRD Pro and ballers are buying the GX

99% of baws buy them for their wives and the tires will never leave pavement. A four banger is better on gas and will likely get to 300k with no problems. These aren’t ever going off roading. I would buy.

I am not interested in going off road. I just want a Toyota bigger than the 4runner.

Test drove them and the GX550. The LC doesn’t have a third row option for 2024 in the US, although it is built out for it on the sides(in the rear hatch area) and it is offered in overseas markets. Also, it felt smaller on the inside than the GX. Didnt like the I4-Hybrid either so went with the GX.
The battery is under the floor of the hatch so the floor is a bit elevated/higher than you would expect also. One thing I did like about the LC was they still had switch/bobs for about of the controls like a/c which is all part of the screen on the GX. I don’t think it is bigger than the new 4 runner though. I’d say close to the same size if anything.

The new GX is the hotness in person. No way I can afford it, and will go be poor in my 20 year old LC, but they look great. Some spoiled housewife’s about to be balling.
Yes. I’m jealous.

I’ll be beating one on the trail in 20 years. I dive a GX470 as my trail rig now.

I don’t think the new LC is any bigger than an 4Runner. Isn’t there like a 250lb weight limit in the cargo area due to the battery? Look into that. GX is better new option but hard to get. Or buy used LC 200 (2021 and earlier) bigger and better than all of the above.
ETA: it’s 130lbs on some small specific part..may not be an issue

I drove my buddies surprised how well it drove but gas mileage is horrible 16-17 no tailgate not a Land Cruiser

You'd be lucky to get 300 miles a tank in that dog. I ain't living at a chevron

Too small. They based them them down etc to get coat down. Nothing like the size etc of the late 2000’s to current

It’s absolute bs you can’t get the 24’ Land Cruiser 70 in the states. Gotta wait 25 years
I’d buy the 70 in a heartbeat. Hopefully we can reform our dumb emission standards.

People complain about 4 banger but have zero clue that Toyota been building reliable turbo 4’s/Hybrids for decades now . I never buy first year of anything but this is Japanese-built & will be very reliable & rugged.

Powertrain is fine.
Interior on the 1958 is plastic and has cloth seats with manual adjustment.
60k? I’d rather get a used 200
