Everybody saying tank for cooper are idiots like this is the nfl lol .. remember we can have the worst record and send up with the 11th pick

I embraced the tank soon as Zion got hurt again, I hate to say it because I feel soon as we trade Zion he will all of a sudden become a professional but it's time to move on

What is the point of a tank when you’re this franchise? How many bona fide franchise cornerstones fallen into their lap? How many times has this gotten the team past the first round of the playoffs? One second round exit with CP3, and another second round exit with AD? And that’s under three different regimes - Bower/NBA, Dealer Demps, Griff.
It would be very fortunate for Flagg (or any top five prospect) to become a multi-year all star, much less All-NBA. So you’re hoping for the tank to get you a shot at a guy like this, for all the losing to give you a chance at a CP3 or AD level player, so that maybe someday after years of hope and development, and war chest building and trades, we can hopefully again be swiftly bounced in the second round.

I would like to see green and Griffen go. if I have to chose one to stay it would be Griffen

That is not how the nba lottery works …. It is impossible to have the worst record and end up with the 11th pick

Pelicans have to win like over seventy percent of their remaining games to make the play in as a tenth seed …. Not happening … past doesn’t matter … you have to do what’s right now ….. tanking and smart reasonable trading is the only path

You’re absolutely right. But you could have a horrible record and still have the sixth pick. There usually is a huge difference talent wise between the first pick and sixth pick.

Still unlikely but possible …. Only the first four picks are part of the lottery … so if you have the worst record you can’t draft lower than 5 and second worst record can’t draft lower than 6 .. but that’s worst case and your just flat out very unlucky ….. but 6 is still better than 11 … the pelicans are not making the playoffs … so they need to improve draft position chances and future roster constructions by tanking and smart trading

My point is the tank isn’t necessarily a solution. You might get a solid player at 5 or 6. But wasting a whole season to get maybe an all star type player in 2 to 3 years isn’t necessarily going to solve anything short term. The reality is unless we got a top 3 pick- and they develop properly in 2 to 3 years (lets hope Griff and Willie aren’t around) and everything pans out yes it might be worth it. But this is a long process- its not as simple as some posters think it is.
Basically if you want to embrace the tank. After praying we lose these games- then pray we get a top 3 pick, pray Willie and Griff aren’t around to develop them and MAYBE we’ll be in thick of the playoffs when they fully develop into franchise leading stars in 2 to 3 years. Getting Cooper Flagg- will not immediately make this team a playoff contender.
