For me its:

Spinnerbait
Squarebill
Senko
Jig
TX rigged soft plastic of some variety.

ETA: if I’m allowed some lagniappe I’d also add a buzz bait, chug bug, and hollow body frog.

Need to do what?

Half the fun is trying different things. If I had to pick 5 baits to use for the rest of my life I would just take up golf or some shite. Bare min I would add a frog/buzzbait/popper and a jerkbait/fluke - list is missing entire presentations.

Sounds simple enough but experience is 90% and a honey hole with underwater habitat is PRICELESS.

P.S Are Goldfish used for bait in Louisiana illegal?

I think the key to the video is "beginner," just starting out with 1 rod and 15lbs berkley big game sounds like a safe bet.

I have 20 rod and reel combos for every different situation known to man with enough baits to supply a small army. But making my kid a pond tacke box I thing the 5 baits listed are legit. Would add top water though

I think the key to the video is people watching it before popping off.
