Apparently a city councilperson was leaving and she's pagan and this is her "priestess"

quote:
At a meeting last week, outgoing councilor Crista Patrick’s pagan priestess Amy McAdams gave an opening invocation. In the prayer, McAdams invoked “the Gorgonea, champions of equality and sacred rage,” and Medusa, “monstrous hero of the oppressed and abused.”
“I wanted to share one little part of myself before I left office,” said Patrick, adding that Medusa is known as “a fighter of injustice, especially for women.”
quote:
Patrick said paganism does not include a belief in Satan, calling the Biblical adversary “a Christian concept.”
When asked about Stitt’s remarks, Patrick said she wishes him love and tolerance.
“I hope that (Stitt) can find a place in his heart to focus on his own spirituality and not focus on those that he is not informed about,” said Patrick.

Paganism predates Christianity and oddly many Christian holidays just happen to fall on old Pagan holidays. Let's not forget Halloween..
Which is a Pagan celebration as well. It's the day when the veil between the living and unliving is it's thinnest (according to them, not me). Lights were placed outside so that the departed could find their way home (jack-o-lantern) and gifts/food were left outside for the departed (today's trick or treating).
I'm not advocating Paganism (or Christianity), it's just one of the many spiritual aspects of life that I have learned about

I am in favor of this.
I am Catholic and I believe there shoudn't be prayer before council meetings. Just cut it out. Not because I don't believe in prayer, but because I don't think MY RELIGION should be pushed by public servants. If MY RELIGION gets to say a prayer, then so should Islam, Satan, Witches, etc.
I do not believe anyone should stop me from praying myself, but there's no reason my prayer needs to be led by public servants whose job it is to serve in public government. I can say my prayer to myself. Why should I expect everyone in the room to listen to my prayer?

I couldn't watch it all! That's pure evil.
"The serpent that rises to face the stars".
She's talking about Satan rising to face the angels of God.
Wow. SMH.... I'm not the holiest or best guy around, but I know enough to recognize evil, and to know Jesus is Lord.

Agreed. Tulsa is moving to substitute a moment of silence for the invocation.

Yet millions of conservatives let hollywood into their mind daily.
Its far worse than Tulsa having a satanic invocation.

I'm sorry, but your history lesson, while accurate, doesn't excuse openly calling on Satan in a City Council meeting.
I understand freedom of religion......
I know I sound hypocritical, but...... THAT isn't what our nation was founded on and it's not what made our nation great.
Say what you will, rationalize it anyway you want to, spew jumbled up word salads.....
It's evil and wrong.

You'll go home tonight, turn on Netflix and let the devil into your head, but by all means lets rage at a retarded invocation.

You are correct.
This is caused entirely by the smooth brains who run around wanting prayer in government and Bible in school curriculums.
For some reason they do not have the IQ to follow this to the very obvious conclusion.

Publicize this until every Tusa council person is recalled.

Sure it is.
And if you are one of those people who wants prayer in government spaces, you made this possible.
