Who attended this show and how badly did I miss out?

I had recently joined the USAF, a HUGE PJ fan, and got on the phone in tech school to order tickets to see PJ in September of ‘05 at Todd Gormley Stadium in NOLA. I was in Biloxi at the time, in tech school, and the show was a mid-week show. I couldn’t go but called, on the pay phone on base, and secured a ticket. This is when they were battling Ticketmaster so kind of a fricked up ticket deal.

I had befriended one of the sergeants who covered night shift and asked him about making the trek to NOLA for the show. Surprisingly, he said he’d overlook me not being in bed the night of show.

Show is like a week out and this motherfricker writes me up for my window being unlocked when my room had a weekly inspection. Tells me I can no longer go to the show. To this day, I think he was lying.

Man, PJ were in their damn prime then. There are limited, low quality videos on YouTube of the show. Seems the Ramones were there, so that’s pretty cool I missed that.

So who attended this show? Was it amazing?

I saw them at Tipitinas in 1992. That was a really good show. No clue about 1995.

I caught them December 6 1991 at municipal auditorium. Opened (along with smashing pumpkins) for the red hot chili peppers

They were excellent and you knew they were about to explode.

Saw that show too. I recall it being a really cheap priced ticket considering the 3 bands playing. I could feel and see the floor springing up and down and could see below into i guess what may have been a "basement" where the floor came together.

I was there. It was an insane show. If my memory is right I think Bad Religion opened for them, then the Ramon's came out, then PJ

I was there. One of my favorite shows. I love outdoor shows. What I remember the most is it was extremely HOT. They were spraying people with hose pipes. I remember letting the bouncers pull me over the front barricade for some relief. So Much Fun!!

I was there. Made my way to the front of the stage during the Ramones, but it was so hot and jam packed. Had to get out of there and ended up watching PJ from the stands. Great show.

I remember that goofy assed ticket.

I saw the Austin show. I believe it was right after NOLA. IIRC Vedder was talking about getting bailed out or having a warrant? Maybe it was the show before NOLA.

Show was decent or great? 1 of the 4 times I’ve seen them and I ruined it for myself that day. HAMMERED!

Thanks, man. The Sonic Reducer with Joey was on point!

They had such a rawness back in those days. Ed's voice was just like jagged and powerful. I guess we all get old but their last several tours/albums will never match that Ten through Yield era.

I got lucky and was able to attend their show at UNO Lakefront. If I’m not mistaken there were three shows and they all sold out within minutes, so I missed out on buying any. But on the very day of one of those shows, a friend of mine let me know he had an extra ticket because someone canceled last minute. I end up calling in sick for work and got to go see them. They opened with Release, and it was a great show.

I also went to the Tad Gormley show. If I’m not mistaken, that show was supposed to be on the 4th of July, but it was postponed. I don’t remember why. Both shows were awesome.

I went to this show also.
What I remember most about this show was standing in line at the Sound Shop @ Hammond Square Mall and was lucky enough to get tickets (not floor). Then at the show my brother had floor tickets. I wanted to get on the floor so bad that he ripped the hanging part of his wristband off, we went to the ticket person and said someone ripped my band off, showed them the ripped piece. It worked and they gave me a new band. I swear true story. I left my friends in the stands so fast.
You had to be on the Floor for Pearl Jam!!

I was there and yes, it was amazing, one of the best shows i have been to.

Show ended with Neil Youngs Rocking in the Free World and Yellow Ledbetter was the closer.

How is Pearl Jam live currently?

I never saw them in their prime, but want to go see them before they hang it up.

They still put on a fantastic live show with shuffling playlists from show to show and a good bit of improvisation. Fact is, they're just a lot older now so there isn't as much energy coming off the stage and Ed can't do the growling, sneer-y vocals he used to use. Also, the newer material is pretty subpar (my opinion) so nearly half the show is spent playing songs I couldn't care less about hearing.

Worth going, and I do when they're around, but it's just....not the same as it was.

No one wants to hear new music from classic bands.

Still a fantastic show. Their depth and range of music over the years makes for great listening.

Over the years, the albums as a whole aren't as good, but I will say I find myself listening to Dark Matter start to finish a lot.

I try to see them every tour. Fenway Park was one of my favorite shows recently, but those shows in Nola in the 90's were fantastic. Tad Gormley was great!
