Seems to me that several here are really sold on bringing in an offensive minded coach and assuming they do and that HC is in tune with Kubiak and they work together. Maybe my own slant on things because I think Klint Kubiak has shown enough that he should still be here when the dust settles. But I digress.

What do you all see happening on the defensive side? IMO there will be a hard sell to keep any of them on the coaching staff. Who is the next young star DC to bring in.

The first name that comes to mind on the defensive side is Robert Saleh. Think he would be an excellent get.

Robert Saleh

What coup is he could bring him in.

I keep coming back to Ron Rivera. Maybe he’s just a name at this point but man he has some good defenses when that way his focus.

I think regardless of who they bring in for HC, you should expect a defensive staff reshuffle. Will need a DC, so the HC & DC will want to bring in their own people unless they have some ties to any of the current staff.

IMO, keeping Kubiak as OC will depend on who ends up as HC. I suspect an offensive minded HC would give Kubiak serious consideration but may lean towards bringing in someone to run their system. A defensive based HC will probably keep Kubiak and most of the guys under him

At one point I was in the "need an offensive minded guy..." club, but when I started actually looking at some of the success some of these DC's were having, I started being intrigued with some defensive guys that would let the OC do his thing. Similar to how DA let Pete & Kubiak run the offenses, problem was DA was overwhelmed and let the defense suffer while also being cap strapped due to Loomis and throwing the Brinks truck to get his QB.

So you want Saleh as head coach? Did you watch hard knocks?

He’s a younger version of Allen. Probably not that bad.

I feel like these threads are better when everybody writes in English.

So you would take a HC that just failed with the Jets as a head coach in a heartbeat? No thanks maybe for DC the saints need a Young Offensive minded HC that has something to prove .... whomever that is, DC are easier to come by IMO than a great offensive mind

After this Allen stint, I do not want another defensive minded HC. Give me an up and coming offensive minded guy.

Joe Brady and Ben Johnson are the top 2 in the betting odds, I would be happy with either of them.

Failed with the Jets, the ownership and GM set up just about anyone to fail the last few seasons and will continue. What great offensive mind would we hire? And what has any big name offensive minded head coach besides Mcvay and Andy Reid done in the last few years? I agree they’re harder to come by, but any of them out there right now are a crapshoot hire too.

I’m sure it was an exaggeration but comparing him to DA is crazy in my opinion lol

I did not watch hard knocks no. But I think the Jets created such a mess and distraction the jury is still out on what he could be in a good situation. I think I’d only want him as HC if Kubiak were to stay.

Not really that crazy. Saleh has a career winning percentage of .357, and Allen’s is .329. That at least puts them in the same conversation.

I just don’t fully believe the Jets mess was all his fault. But I do believe DA was the issue here.

All opinion I guess until either were to prove their numbers differently.

Don't want Kubiak. Need new blood from GM to scouting department to coaches.

I mean kubiak is relatively new blood. I don’t think keeping him around past this year is a bad thing. I don’t want him as HC just yet but if he want to stay as oc and the new HC wants it then sure

He was hired by the coach who was fired.....he seemingly couldn't make any adjustments when players started to go down. If he can only produce when everyone is healthy perhaps Madden is more his speed.

If Jerry Jones fires Mike McCarthy where would he rank as potential HC for New Orleans?

I'll say it, I do not believe New Orleans can pull one of the top HC prospects like Johnson, Vrable or even Brady.

IMO the pool the Saints will be fishing in the pold where thery'll be guys like;

Kliff Kingsbury
Brian Flores
Aaron Glenn
Liam Coen
Mike McCarthy
Todd Monken
Darren Rizzi

My Wild Card is Bill Belichick. I know most would consider him THE top tier HC prospect to land in 2025 but at 72 I'm not sure he's what you look at to build your future around. However, he is exactly the person you look at if you want to totally overhaul your teams culture and bring order back to you lockerroom for a few years until you're ready to hire that future face of the franchise. I'm honestly not sure how I'd feel about Belichick getting the job, It would likely give me a little confidence boot that Bill looked at he roster and salary cap situation and said I can work with that.

But Belichick aside of the coaches listed above I'd want someone who is going to come in an have the same culture changing mentality and is vocal and commands respect. It's hard to look past Rizzi in that regard though I'm trying not to focus on him as the coach currently.
