They just ran into a very good Demons’ offense.

That's because John Melvin quit playing football.
They lost to Millsaps 46-0 on September 14th and that appears to be the last game they played. Other opponents on the schedule list their game with JMU as cancelled, or they found a new opponent for that date.
Apparently they didn't have enough players for their game vs Mary Hardin Baylor on the 28th, then never played again.
There is no formal announcement of them canceling football anywhere to be found.
Who could have ever seen JMU football failing...
