I love my uplights and pathlights.

Had downlights on the house. It looked good but uplights looks more majestic to me.

We are building a new house and had this same debate. Uplights look 1000x classier than down lights.

I went with under eave on my house in Baton Rouge but it was a modern farm house. Have up lighting on my new place and I don’t mind it because I have a lot of trees and landscaping in the yard.

I’d probably do a mixture of both if I build another one. Under eave by the house and up lighting on trees and landscaping away from the house.

Was proud of my downlights in the eaves 20 years ago as a young fella.

Now they're a bitch for an old man with suspect knees, ankles and a beer belly.

Uplights. Downlights become havens for wasp nests.

No they don’t. I just upgraded all the can lights on a house from old school recessed can lighting to the flush mounts.

I swear some of y’all need to get with the times. Get rid of those old arse yellow arse lighting bullshite and go with daylight lights.

Daylight with smart switch dimmers.

THIS. I wouldn't have either. They look very nice either way (I tend to prefer uplighting but downlighting has its place) and appreciate it on others homes and buildings but I ain't having any more shite around my house that I have to maintain than it takes to live in the damned thing. My wife insisted on uplighting at our current house and I bought a bunch of solar powered crap I knew would last longer than her infatuation with uplighting a crepe myrtle and I was spot on. About 2/3s of them no longer work and she has not noticed. I mowed the ones along the fence down within a month of her planting them and she never said boo about it.

I just went with the Govee LED so I don’t have to put anymore decorations up for a while and they also work as security lighting and lights up my home.

Love them.
