Think of the coverage and notoriety he’d get if he played for Dallas or KC or another one of the media darlings. He is absolutely incredible. He shouldn’t be considered some sort of gadget player, he deserves to be considered one of the best in the league

Slow down there fella... Its not from a lack of trying tbh. It's just when they start to really use him consistently, he gets hurt and out for a number of games.
Saints have done their best to feature him for a while now.

If we were a team that won more often he would get that notoriety. In fact when Brees and Payton were here and winning he was getting that notoriety and coverage.

He'd be even more dangerous if he threw just a bit more often so that you never really know if he will run or throw. But yea, he's a fantastic player and runs like a freight train.

I wonder how much he has left to give? He’s 34

Crazy thing is they know hes going to run and still can’t stop him. Its kind of nuts.

I mean technically he didn’t play for 3 years after he graduated high school due to a church mission. It may have saved his body for him to play like this at this age but the last few years hes also had a ton of injuries. I would say maybe 3 more years at best.

I can’t think he has more than one more year at a high level. Even with the late start 35-36 is basically unheard of to be essentially a running back in terms of how you’re getting hit.

I mean you cant judge him really like a running back though. He had only 7 carries and thats the most hes had this season. His 8 catches were also a season high- previous was 4.

I get the concern but that dude isn’t playing like hes 34. They are outliers in the game if football. Look at what Demario is doing. The question though is the injuries- maybe his body holds up and maybe he doesn’t but currently he looks healthy and good to go.

It's funny that the media labels him as a "gadget" player, when the truth of the matter is he's about as straightforward and smash mouth as a player gets. He runs the ball right at the defense and on running downs and he still averages 5.6 yards per carry, which is incredible. This year he's averaging 7.9(!). It's a shame he's just not a little more durable, if he was he'd be completely unstoppable.

I don’t think its an insult. Its a compliment in regards to his versatility. Hes a smash mouth runner but he plays FB, RB, QB, TE and return man. Hence gadget player.

I mean more that he’s not elusive in his game as much as he’s going to be contacted and often violently.

He is fine when he’s in. I just think it’s way more likely than not that he’s injured for bigger and bigger stretches whenever he is used more than sparingly. I definitely wouldn’t build my 25 roster expecting him to be a pillar. We desperately need some solid YOUNG ball carriers.

Anything he gives you should be considered a huge bonus.

Honestly, i think he would be if this pipe dream of him somehow playing qb didn’t unfold. He wasn’t ever good enough to be a qb. He spent a couple of years trying to be one when he should have been doing what he has been doing. Tight end/gadget player.

what makes someone a "superstar"

I guarantee every fanbase knows who Taysom Hill is.

I guarantee you every fanbase doesnt know who Chris Olave or Marshon Lattimore are (go watch videos of people asking their fanbases where their superstar QB went to college....youd be shocked how little the average fan knows.)

But id bet dollars to donuts they know who Taysom is.

He may be a superstar depending on how you define it.

If he was more durable, he'd have probably been drafted in the 3rd round or so.

Having season ending injuries in 4 of your 5 collegiate years is not great. Yet, despite that still ran a 4.4 40, a 38.5 inch vert, and a 10.2 long jump. That is elite athleticism. Ran faster and jumped higher and further than McCaffrey in that draft class. He ran for 1300 yards and 10 TDs as a sophomore.

If he never got hurt, he would have been 26 entering the draft and could have put up some nice numbers in college...and those pro day numbers would jump off the page.

He is a damn unicorn of a player and we should be happy to have him.

He didn’t bow down to Pfizer so he’s been shunned.

He should have been the starting QB since Brees’s last season.

You better believe defensive coaches know who he is.
