Lunch spot between MSY and Baton Rouge and other food advice

Going to the Vanderbilt game next weekend with my high school aged kids and haven't been in Baton Rouge since graduating in 94. We arrive at MSY at 11am and I'm looking for a good seafood lunch spot somewhere just off the Interstate between the airport and Baton Rouge. My ideal spot would be a hole in the wall with great po boys or LA classics like gumbo, creole or a fried platter.
If you have suggestions, also looking for dinner Friday night and breakfast Saturday morning. We will be staying near the LSU lakes so something nearby would be cool.
Finally, if you have any advice to graciously approach locals and tailgate at the stadium that would be helpful. More than happy to pay or bring liquor. I'd like my kids to get the full LSU game experience. The weather looks awesome so this is going to be fun.
Thank you!

Kenner Seafood or Harbor Seafood are right next to MSY and they're both exactly what you're looking for.

Awesome. Will I have a large lady greet me at the counter and say "What you need baby"?

Harbor Seafood is right by the airport.
If you want to get on the road a little before you eat there’s a Mike Anderson’s right off the interstate in Gonzales.
Chimes
Fork and spoon or Magpie cafe
Pretty much any LSU tailgate will welcome you if you tell them you’re an 94 alum and haven’t been back in years.

Lots of info on a previous thread
Harbor Seafood is your best bet. Consider Middendorfs as well.

Holy Crap. Chimes is still there? Is it at the same spot as it was in the 90's?

Yeppers, right outside the North Gates of LSU.
Would you believe they have outposts in Coursey, Covington, and Lafayette now?

Regarding the Chimes, usually when a company branches out I've seen quality suffer. Glad to hear they are still recommended. They didn't seem like the kind of place that would expand.

The Brick Oven near Vets and Williams is a must stop for us. Incredible Italian food.

The OG highland location is better than the Coursey one. Haven’t been to Covington or Lafayette though.
